I paid over 300k when finished. It is probably worth 150k at best. 1000 sq feet finished, 2 bed 1 tiny, tiny bathroom. I did the flooring, the painting, caulking, and half the trim myself. I've had to have them back many times for repairs. Their carpenter is very incompetent. I constantly redid most of his work. Blueprints weren't followed. Deck is now falling apart. Windows are coming apart and are letting bugs in, and I've only lived here 2 months so far. I've had to build a wall to use my laundry room they had the utilities just hanging on the outer wall, with no support. I had to frame the back wall to attach the ductwork and the plumbing for the washer and dryer. They said it was not included in an unfinished basement. I have formica countertops, who uses formica laminate anymore? I can go on and on about the issues, but the gist of this review is to try and warn people that if they want a quality home, do not use Pine Creek. If you want to pay double the value of your home and get a 3rd rate build that is subpar to homes in Haiti, then be my guest and use them. That said, it has gone down the toilet in the last year. When they started my build, they had Dog Gritter and all was going great. He retired a few months in and it went down the toilet fast after that. So, yeah they probably were good quality, but now they are by far the worst builder you would want to use. Look at the time-line of reviews going downhill from then to now, you'll see."

"Unlike the 4 other window companies, including Andersen, I had look at my windows for replacement, Window World's sales reps came with a checklist with prices. I knew exactly how much I was paying the day the rep came to my house. The other companies would not give me quotes, stating "let us know what the other companies say" or "we'll cut you deals if you say yes today". Window World's being upfront on prices was greatly appreciated. The work crew was quick, professional, and polite, and the windows (made by Window World) look fantastic. The sun comes through better, but they also are better insulated than my previous windows. I am very satisfied with the results."

We will always strive to give the customer more than what they bargained for.

"Avoid like the Plague! Deposit placed 8/2019 for siding, windows, gutters, and sliding door. Didn’t start on windows till December with no notice (“Hey I have a crew headed to your house right now!”). Many windows were the wrong size or broken. Installed half screens when full were requested and quoted. 9 months later (As I write this),I still don’t have screens on all windows. The new screen door on my new slider has never worked (does not slide/glide) but the owner of the company says it’s fine and won’t replace. I haven’t been able to use it all summer. My gutters aren’t right and when it rains the water runs under into the soffit. Complaint and video submitted to office in June and they won’t address. Crew did not clean up nails and debris- I filled 2 banana boxes of small debris and nails and STILL finding more. Was quoted with removal of T1-11 siding prior to new siding installation (because I was told it was the right and best way to do it) but They instead just sided over. When I addressed and pushed this- the invoice was reduced a mere $600. The metal “wrap” around my windows is popping off. My support posts In my backyard were wrapped instead of blocking them in with decorative 1x4 like the front porch- looks like a kindergartner did it. Craftsmanship is substandard. When I requested a walk through with the owner to address the issues, he told me I was too picky. I guess he’s ok with half *** work. The job is not completed and to my liking yet the owner is threatening me with legal action if I don’t pay the balance. Save yourself a headache and stay away from Rasmussen."

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

The best lumber for building will be the strongest and most eco-friendly wood your budget allows. That being said, Douglas fir, pine, oak, and maple are all common building materials. Contractors will use a strong, inexpensive wood to frame a house or other structure and finer woods like mahogany for detail work.

Yes, in all cases, it should be more affordable to build your own carport than it would be to hire a professional to do the work. The material costs can sometimes cost a little more through a professional because they can mark it up for delivery and procurement costs. You’ll also save hundreds or thousands on labor fees if you install your carport yourself.

Although dependent on the type and size of lumber, most 2-by-4-by-8-foot pieces of lumber cost anywhere from $3 to $6. Softwood lumber like pine falls on the lower end of the spectrum, while hardwood lumber like oak or walnut falls on the higher end. Different retailers and lumber yards can also vary in price, so it helps to shop around to compare prices.

Cedar and cypress are great wood choices for a window planter box because they’re readily available and won’t break the bank. However, there are plenty of wood types appropriate for a window flower box. Try using redwood for its natural resistance to rot, though it is on the expensive side.

How many square feet a sheet of plywood can cover depends on the size of the plywood sheet. A 4x8 sheet of plywood covers 32 square feet, while a 5x5 sheet of plywood covers 25 square feet. The cost to board up a window with plywood or install plywood under a new roof will depend on the total size of the area.
