"The whole process of quoting, sales presentation, finance arrangement, installation was simple, timely, professional, complete and painless. The price was very competitive, the installation was smooth and prompt, and the end product is thing of beauty. This review is from a homeowner who has had a couple of terrible furnace experiences in the past decade."

Duneland Home & Hardware, Inc. Duneland Home Design Center & Showroom, Duneland Home Remodeling... We are different than any other Independent Home Services Company in many ways our business model will save you money from the starting line all the way to the finish line. We start with the materials to do most of your home Improvement or commercial project. Duneland Home is Home Improvement Retailer we own the Showroom, Design Center and The Hardware Store... Most Contractors purchase products from a local retailer, Lumber Yard etc. they purchase the materials and some put an adder on top of the materials cost and pass that on to you. Depending on the project. Duneland Home & Hardware we make our profit on the materials and put a small project management fee on top of the labor cost to help us cover our costs to manage your project, and make sure all the subcontractors are paid on time and make sure your project runs smoothly and is finished in a professional manner and on time. (we call it total transparency) We only use licensed sub-contractors, plumbers, electricians etc. These are the same professionals that we use on every project so we are comfortable working together and they know that we are extremely picky about paying attention to detail. Clean Sweeps of Michigan was founded in Clarklake in 1980 by a local fireman and eventually sold to long-time employee, Cliff Slagle. We provide the best in chimney and dryer vent care to our family, friends and neighbors throughout Mid-Michigan, Northern Indiana and Northern Ohio, and have maintained the highest standards since our inception. Our team of Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA)-certified chimney sweeps have always been dedicated to keeping your chimneys and dryer vents as clean and as safe as possible. LICENSE #71-06288.

"The old fireplace was rusted and had to be replaced together with the flue and the covers at the top of the chimney. The project was done on time and at the cost within the limits quoted initially. There were no cost surprises at the end of the project. They also work with a credit company that can finance the project for a good deal (no interest for 18 months at that time). The team was professional and they finished the work on time (the actual work took about two days). The cost was maybe a bit more pricey than the average, but the job was well done and without extra costs or surprises at the end."

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, dryer vent cleaning is absolutely worth the money. The service is relatively inexpensive and quick, and the value and peace of mind you get for the investment make it worthwhile. A clogged dryer vent is a significant fire risk, so the average $140 you might pay to have your dryer vent cleaned once a year could save you thousands of dollars in home repairs if the clog causes a fire. Additionally, some homeowner’s insurance companies will charge you a lower premium if you provide receipts of annual dryer vent cleanings by a professional.

It’s possible to clean your dryer vent yourself in most cases, but it’s usually best to leave this important task to a professional. If you make a mistake when reinstalling the vent, you could kink it, which makes it easier for a blockage to form. Instead, call in a professional annually to do a thorough cleaning and an inspection. They will make sure there are no kinks in the vent that could promote blockages in addition to cleaning it. If your vent runs through a wall, you’ll need help from a professional regardless.

Clean lint traps, check hoses for wear, and avoid overloading to extend their lifespan.

Your dryer vent hose should be as straight as you can possibly get it. A straight vent means less lint buildup in the hose. If the hose has a lot of bends and turns, it’s much easier and much more likely for lint to get stuck along the line, meaning you’ll have to clean it out a lot more often to decrease the risk of a total blockage or a fire.

Excessive humidity in a room often manifests through visible signs like condensation on windows or walls, a musty or damp odor lingering in the air, peeling wallpaper or paint, and the presence of mold or mildew. Experiencing discomfort due to a consistently clammy or sticky feeling can also indicate high humidity levels.
