"Worst workmanship I’ve ever seen. Basement still leaks, the system they installed does not drain water into the sump crock looks like water is now being diverted under the floor. Owner never came out to look at what his employees call a finished job. I was quoted by Dennis $56 a foot in the basement and when I got upstairs it was actually $59, red flag. I was quoted and designed a system and they installed another. Look at pics and you decide if you want to hire these hacks and liars. One other thing the workers mixed the Qiukrete next to my furnace that was running and the whole house was filled with concrete dust."

Yes, you can put carpet directly on concrete. However, you need to take certain precautions to ensure the success of the carpet installation. For most homeowners, wood and wood screws are the best materials to make concrete forms because they’re affordable, readily available, and easy to work with. Steel is a better concrete form material because you can use it thousands of times for repeated work, but this is most useful in commercial applications where one job is necessary many times over.

Concrete dries faster in the heat than in the cold, but when concrete cures too fast, it can cause weak concrete. It’s best to pour concrete when temperatures are between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, watering it five to 10 times per day for seven days (unless you pour concrete in the winter). Slower cure times, such as when pouring concrete in cold weather, can cause strong concrete, but you need to monitor the temperature drop and moisture levels. Avoid pouring concrete when temperatures are below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Concrete can cure in 24 hours if the temperature remains above 40 degrees, but it might take up to 48 hours for the initial curing if the temperature drops close to freezing. You can speed up the curing process in cold weather by using accelerants, or you can insulate the slab or enclose and warm the area with heaters.

While all ice melts that contain chemicals can damage concrete, some are more concrete-safe than others. Magnesium chloride and potassium chloride are both salts that can melt ice without causing corrosion. Calcium chloride also causes minimal corrosion, making it another popular choice.
