DeJonghe Septic is an excellent company. Matt is not only an expert at what he does;he is very honest and has an outstanding work ethic. For example, when he came to pump our septic today, we discovered that the 50 year old lid had shattered since the last pumping. My wife and I went out to buy the riser and lid that Matt recommended, but didn't quite have the expertise to do it ourselves. Matt came back in the midst of his very busy day, helped us to install the riser, and refused to take any extra money for the second trip to our house! Their pumping prices are also reasonable and Misty in the office is very helpful. I don't give many five star reviews, but this one is well deserved.

Servicemen called in advance of arrival to confirm appointment.  Arrived on time as scheduled.  They performed the service quickly, professionally and provided discount coupons for their service.  Excellent service.

Matt did a great job cleaning and inspecting my septic system. He took a lot of time to explain to me how the system worked and the issues that were present in the system. He also presented me with a very professional report and made a couple suggestions for future serviceability and to maintain system performance. Matt recovered my tank and left everything just as it was. Matt is not the cheapest, but he is not ridiculously expensive either. He is honest and for the price he does a lot of extras. The cheaper guys might be more expensive if they did everything he does as standard service. I'll be seeing him again in 2-3 years for a cleaning!

We recently purchased a very old house, built in 1880 to be exact, and as first time homeowners relocating from urban life to the country, neither of us had ever lived in a home with a septic tank. Before purchasing, we got a home inspector to come and check everything out, and he said our plumbing was fine, but that the back toilet had slow flow, and quot; Not a big deal, and quot; he said. About two weeks after moving in, one morning we noticed that the same toilet mentioned above was leaking from the base, not a lot but enough to soak the cement floor (very country mud/bathroom). I immediately assumed that the wax ring around the base of the toilet was not sealing, and we removed the toilet to see what size and type of ring we should purchase to fix the leak. After removing the toilet, we realized that there was clearly a much larger issue, as the main drain, the approx. 3and quot; tube that takes the disgusting waste away from our home, was filled to the brim. Considering how much it can cost to replace a septic system, we immediately panicked. Our initial saving grace is that our very old house actually has two septic systems, one on each side, so we still had access to shower and a working toilet.
We started researching online how to figure out what is failing in the system, and all knowledgeable sounding advice recommended opening the tank up to see what the water levels were. Now our septic tanks our the old, cement-in-the-ground type, and all the information we were given about the septic system (after purchase of course) were two faded, handwritten pieces of paper, one a roughly sketched diagram illustrating roughly where each tank is in comparison to the house, and another with the and quot;maintenance recordsand quot;, if you can call them that. On the maintenance sheet, we found that the working septic tank had not been worked on or pumped since 1990 (23 years), and the one backing up? Well it had never been pumped. Odds were not in our favor, the potential costs of installing a new system loomed over our heads like thick, saturated rain clouds on the most miserable of days.
After about 45 minutes of digging for buried treasure we discovered the crudely made concrete lid of the tank and were optimistic about at least coming to a basic diagnosis before we called in the professionals. That is, until we realized that this cement lid was essentially and quot;cementedand quot; in place with little pieces of gravel, roots, etc. After bending several pipes as well as the lengths of several brooms and shovels, we came to the conclusion that we needed the professionals.
After calling several septic service/pumping companies, one of which were booked for ages and the other had stopped pumping tanks all together, I found DeJonghe on Google, as he had no reviews on Angie's List, yet ( I came here first of course). He had few reviews, but all positive, and his website had tons of good information, as well as a coupon for $20 off. I noticed most the content was written by his wife, which made me feel even better, knowing it was local, family business. I called and talked to Missy, who was extremely friendly and informative, let me know about the coupon on line, and set up an appointment for Monday, just 4 days after I called. She said it was good that we had dug the tank out, as there is an additional charge for locating/excavating (as there should be, its definitely work!!) She said they would be at the house around 8 or 9, and they would call first, which they did.
The were on time, very polite and efficient. They seemed glad that we had dug it out, and the service in whole took less than an hour. They used a pry bar to pop the lid off, quite easily I might add, and let us know that our septic tank was in good condition for its age, and that one of our guests overzealous use of toilet paper had caused the back up. Also, they let us know that our baffle had fallen off the pipe to the leach fields and was on the bottom of our tank, and seeing that my man is very handy, let us know we could fix it ourselves for much cheaper than he would charge (about $200 thru them, cost us about $50 to do ourselves). I have huge respect for people who are honest and do not try to squeeze you. When they were done, there was no mess, and they left us feeling very positive about the whole experience. As a result of all of this, we will use them for all future septic servicing and recommend them to friends. A great septic experience.

My toilet was not flushing. They came on the same day and took care of the problem with the pumping. They called me like I requested prior to arriving and were very professional. I could not have asked for better service.
