"Godoy's Tree Service had to reschedule due to the weather, which was understandable. Godoy's was friendly, very professional when assessing the job and gave me a written estimate for the job. They scheduled the appointment for the next day and called when they were on their way to give the estimate. They stayed in contact with me and was willing to go out of their way to answer any questions I had. The estimate was reasonably priced and I would hire them for future jobs as well as recommend Godoy's Tree Service to friends."

"Josh removed 24 stumps of varying diameter from 18" to 3 feet in a little more than an hour. His price is quite reasonable. Josh is a professional and friendly young man. I plan on calling him again when I drop some more trees."

"I highly recommend this tree removal company! They were professional, punctual, and extremely hardworking from start to finish. The crew worked safely and efficiently, and the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. They took great care of my property, cleaned up everything before leaving, and made sure the job was done right. Their communication was excellent, the pricing was fair, and they were honest and reliable throughout the entire process. "This company performed an awesome job cutting and removing the trees, as this was a big job. The price point was additionally awesome and the time spent doing the job was under three days. Would I recommend for tree cutting is a definite yes. The owner and crew very upbeat. The only issues is, they didnâ t return to complete the job (which is small cleanup of the smaller limbs and proper grinding of some of the trees stumps). Though I have reached out multiple times and the owner informed me he didnâ t have any issue finishing the job, to no avail he has not. So unfortunately I now have to hire another company to finish the job. Again this company does an awesome job at tree removal, but may still have some growing pains in completing things on the smaller side of stump grinding and clean up."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

Horticulturist is a broad term for any type of plant and soil expert. An arborist, meanwhile, specializes in all aspects of tree care. You should hire an arborist when you need assistance with tree-related tasks, such as pruning large trees, removing trees, diagnosing a sick tree, or emergency tree services. Horticulturists aren’t qualified to handle those types of tasks.

There are many signs that a tree is diseased or dying, and if you suspect that’s the case, you should call an arborist immediately. You might notice rot or fungus on the trunk or that the tree is beginning to lean to one side. Brittle branches or signs of root damage are other indicators that a tree is in trouble. If the tree is dying, it might be time to cut the tree down so it doesn’t fall.
