Customers say: Quick response

"Before Stump Brothers, I had SO much trouble trying to get anyone to even consider my apple tree removal. Josh reached out with a quote within the first 10 minutes it was requested and was able to get me on the schedule within the week! He gave a variety of convenient payment options and he was reliably communicative. Randall came out to do the project, and my goodness, the man is both a beast with a chain saw and a delicate ballerina. Those tree limbs were floating to the ground; this man is an artist. He had the whole thing done and cleaned up faster than my comforter could finish it’s wash cycle. I 100% recommend"

"This company was hired to grind out three old stumps that had been left by tree services that didn`t stump grinder and remove some trees behind and next to my garage. The crew damaged my fence when they dropped part of the tree on it and did not apologize. I had to pay someone to repair the fence. The main tree I wanted removed was on the lot line, and they accessed it from my neighbor's yard, leaving debris there. They also removed smaller trees behind my garage. I was told they couldn't bring a stump grinder for them because it was too close to concrete, but they would cut the stumps flush to the ground. To allow stump out to be applied. However, the residual stumps are already putting out new shoots. They told me that day. The day they cut the trees down, they told me they would send the stump grinder out on a later date. I was told to hold $150. From the payment. That I would give them when they brought the stump grinder out. They are denying that they have any responsibility for doing the stump grinding that was part of the original project. Now, I need to hire somebody else to grind the stumps."

The crew worked safely and efficiently, and the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. They took great care of my property, cleaned up everything before leaving, and made sure the job was done right. "This company performed an awesome job cutting and removing the trees, as this was a big job. The price point was additionally awesome and the time spent doing the job was under three days. Would I recommend for tree cutting is a definite yes. The owner and crew very upbeat. The only issues is, they didnâ t return to complete the job (which is small cleanup of the smaller limbs and proper grinding of some of the trees stumps). Though I have reached out multiple times and the owner informed me he didnâ t have any issue finishing the job, to no avail he has not. So unfortunately I now have to hire another company to finish the job. Again this company does an awesome job at tree removal, but may still have some growing pains in completing things on the smaller side of stump grinding and clean up."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You may wonder whether tree removal is tax deductible: Tree removal is not tax-deductible for homeowners unless it's related to a federally declared disaster. In that case, the cost may qualify as a casualty loss. However, if you own a commercial property, like a rental home, tree removal could be deductible if it's necessary for safety, maintenance, or part of a larger capital improvement project, and you must hire a professional tree removal service and keep documentation. Always consult a tax professional beforehand to see if you qualify.

It can take anywhere from one month to a couple of years for tree roots to grow back in sewer lines. Tree roots can cause extreme havoc on your sewer lines, potentially cracking them and causing untreated wastewater to make its way into the groundwater. Have a landscaping pro remove trees and roots before installing your system, or call a pro to do it retroactively as soon as you can.

Tree trimming can count as landscaping, depending on how a landscaping business describes its services. Professional tree trimmers are more specialized than landscapers and offer trimming services separately from general landscaping.

When general landscaping companies offer tree trimming, look up the details. They usually mean shaping or seasonal trimming of ornamental trees, which is different from trimming larger trees for health or safety reasons. When possible, look for a licensed expert that specializes in trees and tree health.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

The speed of your tree root removal process depends on a few different factors, including the size and type of tree. However, the fastest method of killing tree roots is applying chemical herbicide, which starts working quickly and efficiently. But this removal method has its drawbacks, such as having a negative effect on the surrounding vegetation and landscaping. Other options like rock salt and stump grinding work relatively quickly and cause less damage to your yard.
