"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Master Craft was professional in every aspect of the remodeling.  From the beginning they worked closely with us to insure that all of requirements and design ideas were clear.  They presented cost saving alternatives as well as excellent suggestions that can only come from over thirty years of experience.  Detailed cost estimates were provide and explained before any work commenced.  During the renovation the Master Craft team arrived on time and worked with as little disruption to our normal daily activities.  They were pet and children friendly and always conducted themselves in a professional and courteous manner.  The end result was truly amazing and exceeded our expectations.  We would recommend Master Craft to anyone who wants the best.

He is very responsive and cleans up nicely after the job is complete. I'm a real estate agent, and have referred him to numerous clients of mine and would recommend him to anyone."

"Ron from Home Depot was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave me some great tips for future references. He called to confirm he could come out sooner than appt. time . He had thorough answers to all of my questions and the cost was fair. I would highly recommend."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

No, and that’s why adding kitchen cabinets to the ceiling is popular! Whether you match the color of your existing cabinets or not, you can still paint your cabinet boxes with them attached to the wall—making this project much less invasive.

Not all refaced cabinets will peel, but they may if they have improperly installed veneer. To avoid peeling, hire a professional with a warranty on their work and materials, or make sure you purchase quality materials and follow all manufacturer-recommended installation instructions.

Yes, you can replace just your cabinet doors, assuming the structure of the cabinets themselves is sound. Replacing only the doors can save you money when renovating your cabinets. New cabinet doors cost $300 on average, but range from $200 to $400, depending on the material and size. Keep in mind that replacement doors made of materials like fiberboard and engineered wood are less expensive than wooden cabinet doors.

Properly maintained, resurfacing typically lasts 5-10 years. Factors like surface usage and exposure to chemicals affect longevity.

Since there are many methods of repairing your cabinets, including refacing and refinishing, it can be tricky to know when to replace or fix your existing cabinets. Generally, it’s best to repair your existing cabinets when the cabinet boxes are in good condition. Additionally, this option is best when you’re being budget-friendly or remodeling.

Replacing your cabinets is best when you’re changing the layout of the room or when the cabinet boxes are in rough shape. It’s also best to replace your cabinets if you need more storage space, as this will remove the existing cabinets for new ones.
