"This was one of the worst experiences in my life!! After After 6 weeks of horrible communication I still have no tub I followed up with a certified hot tub tech who informed me that due to the fact my hot tub is sunken into the floor there is no access to the control box. You CANNOT change out a heater without access to this box. Pool 2 Perfection should have known this. They never should have charged me for parts that are not properly connected to the control box because they will never work. Now I an out $855 and still have a non-functioning hot tub. He does not know what he is doing and should have never agreed to service the Hot Tub. Now he will not even respond to me. I offered to pay the service call and he can come and get his part that is of no use to me."

I have 5 years of one on one on the job experience. I take pride in quality work and customer satisfaction. I like to be personable with my customers to understand their individual needs and desires. We open, close, and service pools, as well equipment. Stained concrete and any type of brick work.

"At first very responsive -- even sent thru a text asking for an extension from Friday to Monday to provide the estimate that we'd discussed after I'd sent them a detailed pool inspection report and pictures. But Monday came & went. I attempted to reach to follow up but no answer to voicemail/email/text. After letting a week go by, I called and the guy answered his cell phone but told me his company wouldn't have time to do the work on the pool for me in the Spring and he'd meant to tell me that. I told him that the written estimate is for my lender and isn't a promise to do the work, and I have to have at least 2 estimates to be able to close. I even offered to pay him for his time to write up the estimate that I reiterated does Not have to be detailed at all, just a ball-park figure of what it might cost to unwinterize the pool in the Spring (and make any repairs that might be necessary to ensure it's running properly) and replace the liner. He stated adamantly that he and his company were not interested in providing me an estimate and offered no explanation of what may have changed from just about a week earlier when he was all enthusiastic and helpful about writing the estimate for me. So any indication by them that they provide free estimates (or even an estimate for which a customer is willing to pay a reasonable fee) is false. No excuse to treat someone this way; it was basically a great big ** to me. And why? What happened? How long does it take to write $9,000-$10,000 on a company bid sheet (assuming he agrees with the cost estimates of the pool inspector) and email it through? Again, no detail required - no breakdown or justification for the dollar figure estimate because the pool inspection report I provided to them already did that."

"We are happy with the quality of the pool, but not happy with the experience of working with Midwest. They did not communicate or coordinate well, and they made decisions on our behalf (like what tile to install in the pool) without consulting us. Mistakes were made with the concrete surround and their attitude seemed to be 'oh well'. It seems like the only reason we were actually able to get them to complete all of the work was because we withheld final payment until everything was complete."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

When your hot tub is completely dry, there is typically no need to introduce antifreeze into the plumbing. However, if you desire an extra layer of protection against potential freeze damage, you can consider adding some RV antifreeze to your hot tub lines. Just ensure that you use RV antifreeze specifically, as automotive antifreeze is highly toxic and should be avoided.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.

The average life expectancy of a hot tub cover is between five and seven years. You can extend the life of yours by keeping it clean, using a soft cloth and mild dish soap; applying a vinyl protectant spray; using a cover lift to move and fold the cover carefully, rather than treating it roughly; protecting it from harsh weather; keeping kids and pets off the cover; and cleaning the underside of the cover with a chlorine spray. Investing in a quality cover will also help it last longer and look better.

Similar to a hot tub, swim spas last anywhere from five to 20 years, depending on quality and your attention to maintenance. The best way to increase the lifespan of your swim spa is to carefully maintain it—including draining it around every six months to deep clean the parts.

Yes. If you test the water and the alkalinity is too low, you can raise it by adding an alkalinity increaser, which likely came with your hot tub’s chemical kit. In a pinch, you can use baking soda to raise the hot tub’s alkalinity. Raising the alkalinity will prevent the hot tub water from becoming too acidic.
