"They were very polite, professional, and on budget. There were NO changes in the quoted price and we paid exactly what we expected to. Also, they kept our basement VERY clean while working and cleaned up every day before they left, which kept my wife's stress level down and was certainly most appreciated."

"We hired Patricia Interiors for our master bedroom renovation and I cannot say enough about our experience with them! I needed major help with design and not only did they design something beautiful for my husband and I, but they were so easy to work with. I had a few ideas in mind and they listened and really understood my tastes. They helped me with custom draperies (GORGEOUS!) and created a master bedroom space that is calming and serene. Its my favorite room in the house :) They helped me pick out new furniture, bedding, accessories, artwork- you name it! I would not have not been able to create this perfect space without them. They were timely, patient, and wonderful to work with! I highly recommend their services and will definitely be using them again for future renovations!"

"Although there is still design work needed, the design and color/product selection was exactly what I was looking for. Antonella has done great providing an overall design that meets my needs while working within my limited budget. So far, hiring VitaBella Interiors was one of my better decisions for this project."

"I could not have asked for better service and quality of goods. Extremely easy to work with. Initial hire this year was for outside holiday lighting. But have already hired again for next year and am confident the interior design service will be top quality as well. Expect this company to be in high demand once word gets out. Great opportunity to work with them. They won t disappoint."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

It’s often worth hiring a closet designer, even though the process can be expensive. Custom closets drastically improve the usability and convenience of your living space, but they also tend to improve your home value. Not only will your custom closet improve your living experience, but you’ll likely see more than a 50% return on your investment when you sell your home.

One of the easiest ways to save money when hiring a holiday decorator is to provide storage for your decorations. If you have the space, you can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars by avoiding storage costs through your professional. It’s also a good idea to provide as much direction as possible for your professional, as this can cut down on design services. Finally, you can pay for your decorator to take down your decorations at the end of the season, but packaging and storing them yourself will save money on labor.

While the terms 'interior designer' and 'interior decorator' are often used interchangeably, they represent distinct professions with some overlapping work. The primary difference lies in the scope of their projects.

An interior decorator focuses on the aesthetics of a space, making less permanent decisions about decor. Their work involves selecting colors, fabrics, furniture, wall art, paint, and other finishes to 'dress' a room and enhance its style.

An interior designer has a broader scope that includes a decorator's aesthetic focus but also extends to the structural and functional aspects of a space. Designers are qualified to plan layouts, make structural changes, and manage overall functionality. They handle permanent decisions regarding fixtures like cabinets and bathtubs, establish floor plans, and may hire contractors.

Due to the technical skills required, interior designers typically have formal education, certification, and may hold a license, which can result in higher fees. As a general rule, it is best to hire an interior designer for major remodeling projects and an interior decorator for projects focused on establishing or refreshing a home's interior style.

Establishing a whole-house color palette gives your home a sense of uniformity and makes your interior look more visually appealing. Overdoing a single color can make your home feel monotonous, while too many colors can create a sense of chaos and disorganization. When in doubt, choose a foundation color and then use complementary colors to accent.

How long it takes a kitchen designer to complete their work ranges greatly, from just a few hours, to a couple of weeks. Their timeline depends on how complex the design is and the scope of your kitchen remodel. Some remodels are aesthetic and can be as simple as adding new countertops or different cabinets. Those designs will take less time than, for instance, a full gut of your kitchen with a whole new layout and all new appliances.
