"Nathan is very personable and thoroughly explains what he can do for the client and points out other preventive measures to take. I needed bird nest removed from vent about 12 feet above ground. After that he put cages (from Menards) over 2 of the vents. After that he caulked on the roof and eaves any locations that could cause bee/wasp nest or possibly bats. He went beyond what I hired him for. I will call him again when/if needed. He takes pride in his work."

"Had Wingman handle a bird situation with our bathroom exhaust vent. Starlings were attempting to nest in our vent, so Craig was able to place small guards over our two separate bathroom vents (over our louver style caps) to keep anything out going forward. From the start Ruthie was very responsive to my initial request for service and Craig followed up with the actual work here at our house. Very efficient process from start to finish and very reasonably priced for the service. Would definitely recommend Wingman Pest Control for their professionalism and quality of service."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Both spikes and loose nets can be installed over nest sites to prevent the bird from returning, but nets are not a humane option since birds and other wildlife can get tangled in them.

Spikes are a humane alternative that deter nesting without harming the birds. In small areas, like vents, a very fine mesh net can be installed to prevent the bird from returning. These nets don't generally pose a risk to the birds.

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.

Signs include visible nests, droppings, frequent loud noises, or structural damage caused by these animals, indicating a need for pest control intervention.

Using audio and visual methods to discourage birds might work initially, but birds tend to acclimate to them over time. While chemical deterrents can show some effectiveness, their results can be inconsistent. Some may dissipate too quickly, and there's a risk they might cause unintended damage to your surroundings. Additionally, birds might become immune or resistant to the impact of such treatments.

Many different types of animals like to build nests in attics. The types may vary depending on your home’s condition and location and you can prevent them by sealing off entry points and eliminating food sources. The most common critters that like to build nests in your attic include:

  • Raccoons

  • Bats

  • Squirrels

  • Mice

  • Rats
