I am a flooring installer and I own Buff Flooring and maintenance LLC. We do all types of flooring such as wood, laminate, vinyl and hardwood engineering. We also do driveways and water proofing installations around the house and inside the house (for floods, storms..etc) as well as snow removal. "I needed my older automatic pool vacuum repaired and was afraid it would not be fixable. I sort of ranted awhile at the repair team (Dusty or Justin) and they patiently let me carry on. Then they repaired my vacuum and it works better than before! Sorry for taking my bad day out on them but I’m guessing they are used to people getting repairs being less than ideal."

Hot Tub Repair is a full service hot tub and spa repair company. We do everything from a simple drain and clean to freeze damage and insurance repairs. We also offer a full line of spa chemicals, filters, covers and accessories.

"Absolutely untrustworthy. Paid him over 500 to repair a leak on the hot tub. Replaced main drain. Now I have a leak from the drain and the fitting he connected the pipe to. Twice as bad as what it’s was before he touched it. Called him to have him come back out and fix it. Told me two weeks. It’s been over a month and he still hasn’t come back. Last communication said he wasn’t coming. Now I have to take him to court. Avoid this person at all costs. Terrible business and will not follow through and warranty his work."

You should drain your hot tub three to four times a year to give it a thorough cleaning. This should take about an hour, but it depends on the size of your tub.

Hot tub heaters typically last seven to 10 years, though some might only last five years if not properly maintained. You can maximize your hot tub heater’s lifespan by ensuring the water’s pH level is properly balanced.

Similar to a hot tub, swim spas last anywhere from five to 20 years, depending on quality and your attention to maintenance. The best way to increase the lifespan of your swim spa is to carefully maintain it—including draining it around every six months to deep clean the parts.

It’s less expensive to leave your hot tub on all the time, though you’ll want to keep it at a reduced temperature. How much you use the hot tub is also a factor. You’ll want to keep it at a constant temperature between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit for weekly or daily use, then bump it up right before you get in. If you don’t plan to use your hot tub that often, you can turn it off as long as there’s no risk of freezing.  

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property.
