"They were professional and quick. It was a bit pricey in my opinion but most plumbing usually is. We had a clogged drain and they did a mechanical snake from the roof down the vent pipe for $450. They also threw in a 30 day warranty in case the snake didn't fully clear the block, which is reassuring. However, they were confident that the block was resolved. Toilets and shower are draining so it's looking like it worked. Would hire again."

"Tuesday September 28th, 2021 Nobody does it better than KT Clean, owned & operated by Kathryn Mills. My wife has our home and offices in Midland Michigan cleaned and maintained by KT Clean & we are more than completely satisfied. Silicone-based caulk is known for its waterproofing qualities, so it’s the best option for any bathroom area. Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain. 

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket. 

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line.
