"I should tell you that he was the 3rd contractor to show up with an estimate.  The 1st, which advertises eavuily on sports radio, could not even offer a solution and simply left after 15 minutes.  The 2nd, a snake oil saleman, wanted $4000 to dig out the basment along 3 walls to solve the problem (overkill and I'm out $3000 too much)
His 2 men showed up on time and completed the task that day but advised there was still blockage which had to be snaked out.  I subsequently received a call from Brian, 4-Ever's plumber, who set up an appointment came out and snaked the line clear.  He even went to the store bought me 3 plugs..one brass one so  I could lay carpet w/o a bump where the cleanout was and 2 more for the storm drain and the sewer drain which were never ( after 60 years) opened.  He even took the time to show me how to break out the original brass plugs and how to install new PVC ones.  DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS NOT ON ANGIE'S LIST AND 4-EVER LEADS THE PACK

As with any good contractor, we waited our turn in line for the job to be done, but that gave us more than enough time to choose our materials. He painted a bonus room, removed a kitchen tile backsplash and installed a new one along with our laundry room. He removed a fiberglass shower surround in one bathroom, and replaced with a bigger tile shower. Replaced all bathroom fixtures. The next bathroom, he removed a massive jet tub, replaced with a soaker tub, removed ugly tile and replaced with our choice. He also replaced all bathroom fixtures. Matt always arrived when he said he would, performed excellent work, and most important, kept to his estimate. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat. For anything!"

In preparation for the approaching cold months, and inevitably spending more time in doors, we wanted to make sure that all of our major updates were finished before the cold Michigan weather came sweeping in to spoil the summer fun. So naturally it was decided that the time had come to remove the awful wallpaper in the den and master bathroom!
 I met with four contractors, Elysium's bid was admittedly higher in price. However, based on their outstanding reputation and the detail and clarity that their estimator brought to the table we signed the contract.
All of the work was completed as promised and within the given time frame. There were no nasty surprises when the materials invoice came and the ghastly wallpaper is gone for good. Looking forward to spending time in my updated den this winter, thank you Elysium for doing a great job!
