"Can't say enough about Bruce the owner. He spent 30 minutes in my attic before giving me a quote. He knew what he was doing. He ended up re-using some wood I had up there to build me storage. He also used Michigan Made product which increased my rebate from Consumers Energy. The day of the job he and his crew were great - left everything in order. And the best thing - in the middle of the job, Bruce discovered light fixtures that did not have the proper covers - we went out and purchased them for me, and installed them. Solved a problem I've had for 20 years and didn't understand why. Awesome experience with King Bur."

Customers say: True professional

"The owner sold me this job. I had gotten 2 other quotes. I likes his presentation. He answered a lot of my questions and knows this product well. I was schedule about a week later for my install. A crew of 3 showed up to perform the work and were done within the day. They showed up at 9 and by 3 or 4 they were pretty much done. Very professional. I took that day off of work so I could witness the operation. Any errors were immediately taken care of to my satisfaction."

"Church's Insulation installed over 8" of blown attic insulation in mid-June 2020. Very responsive and professional employees. We immediately noticed the more comfortable and even temperatures when going from the main level to the upstairs bedrooms. We no longer have the 5-8 degree temperature difference before this work was completed and look forward to lower utility bills for cooling and heating. Highly recommend."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

Yes, with modifications or the use of adapter kits for tricky placements.

Yes, egress windows can significantly add value to a home. By making basement and attic areas safer and more livable, they allow you to market these spaces as finished living areas, which increases your property's value. Many homeowners can recover the full installation cost, with some sources citing a return on investment of around 70%. The exact value added depends on your specific home, location, and adherence to local building codes. Beyond financial value, egress windows enhance functionality by adding natural light and comfort. They are also a crucial safety feature, often mandated by building codes to serve as an emergency exit.

There are a few ways to save money on egress window installation. First, choosing pre-fabricated windows instead of custom windows can help dramatically reduce the overall cost. In addition, skipping window extras, like customized frames or window film, can help save money on the price tag without sacrificing the window itself. You should also shop around to multiple window installers to find the best installation deal without sacrificing the quality of the window.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.
