"Took him over a week and a half to get here supposedly fixed our icemaker three day later. I called to tell him it still was not working. Oh they?ll need to get another part that was last week. They should be here today. We called the part hasn?t come in yet we weren?t gonna be charged anything else cause it should?ve been fixed. The first time he said, but now it?s another 80 bucks or so I would not use them again"

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

Kotz Heating, Cooling and Plumbing is a customer focused heating and air-conditioning company that was originally started in 1987. Located in Waterford, MI, we employ highly trained people whose goal is to make our company the best service company in Oakland County Michigan. Our company specializes in designing, engineering, and installing complete comfort systems for owners of existing homes and buildings just like yours. We take special pride in the craftsmen we train and employ--a fact you'll notice immediately in the attitude and integrity they bring to your job site. Our entire company works hard to make your experience with us hassle-free and enjoyable. Should we make a mistake, we will do everything in our power to correct it to your satisfaction. From the professionalism of our sales engineers, to the dedication of our field personnel, we are dedicated to delivering you the best. We take our responsibility very seriously when you place your trust in us. We pledge to always tell you up front what your cost will be to complete your job correctly. We make it a point to go over any details or limitations of the proposed system that will affect your enjoyment of the end result. You are told exactly what to expect up front. We back this philosophy with our exclusive written guarantee when choosing Kotz Heating, Cooling and Plumbing to contract your job: “If at any time during the first year of installation, you are not 100% satisfied with the performance of the equipment, our service or even our people, we will, within 30 days of your request, remove the system and cheerfully refund the entire amount of the contract.” Compare our guarantee with the limitations, fine print and exclusions other companies tend to use to back their work today. Others will typically guarantee only the functionality of the equipment--not your satisfaction with the process or that the finished job lives up to your expectations.

"Installed new furnace. Installed new air conditioning unit. Installed new circuit breaker for a/c. Installed new ductwork. Installed new gas lines & garage heaters. Set up new heating/cooling zones. handled all permits & inspections. (Work is being performed in stages; at this point, total work is about 90% complete, and the completion date is already scheduled)."

"I can't say enough good things about the folks at Wise Heating and Cooling. We decided last year to get a Generac as we were tired of the frequent power outages in our area. We have an unusually slop to lot with half of it being build into the side of a hill. Jimmy, Brett, Rochelle and the folks at Parker Electric couldn't have been more helpful and dedicated in making sure YOU ARE 100% COMPLETELY SATISIFIED AND HAPPY. Because our home was built in the 1970's, the electrical breaker panel wasn't up to what was needed for a Generac Transfer Switch, we had to have ours replaced. Upon inspection of what needed to be done, they found a natural gas pipe was leaking under my decking!!! Consumers immediately came and shut off all gas to my home at noon. Wise had a fellow come out and by 9pm that night, new black pipe was threaded and installed!!! The next morning Consumers had my gas turned back on!!! The Generac was installed, leveled, new Breaker and Transfer Panels were installed and a gas line hooked up. Then the Generac was activated via the Wifi it came with and the battery and Oil heater optional equipment installed. A test run was done and we're now 100% ready for the next electrical outage. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GENERAC AND NEED A RELIABLE AND DEPENDABLE OUTFIT TO DO THE JOB.......CALL WISE in West Branch. You won't be disappointed!!!!! I have them coming out in the fall to service my Forced Air Furnace, Humidifier and in the spring, they'll do my central air and Generac annual maintenance."

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Humidifier Repair questions, answered by experts

There are some physical signs you need to have a humidifier that manifest as signs in your home and body. For the home, Watch for cracked and peeling paint, dry wooden flooring and furniture, excessively loud creaking wooden floors or doors, and an increase in the electricity needed to cool or heat the home. Physical symptoms include frequent dry air passages, Scratchy throat, increased allergy symptoms, and dry eyes.

NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is not legally required for HVAC technicians in most areas, but hiring a professional with this certification is highly recommended. NATE-certified technicians demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in different types of HVAC systems, offering assurance of quality service. It's a voluntary certification, yet it indicates a commitment to professionalism and ongoing training. Choosing a NATE-certified technician often means you're working with someone who is up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, which can lead to better service, energy efficiency, and long-term cost savings.

Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are actually quite similar, though they perform different jobs. Dehumidifiers reduce moisture in the air, while air conditioners work to cool the home. A good central AC unit will naturally perform a certain level of dehumidification due to its design, but it will not be able to handle excessive levels of moisture.

Several styles of HVAC dampers exist, some with motors and some without. The various types include butterfly, blade, louvered, guillotine, and more. The names describe their construction style and how air moves through them. Motorized versions work through wiring connected to a control panel within the HVAC system. Manual versions allow an operator to decide which way to send the airflow and make the adjustment by hand.

Ideal humidity conditions generally range from 30% to 50%, with 45% considered optimal humidity for most homes. If your humidity levels drop below that range, you can turn your dehumidifier off. Additionally, suppose the temperature where the dehumidifier is installed falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In that case, it's best to turn it off and unplug it since cooler temperatures can cause the unit's coils to freeze.
