"Prompt response, did an excellent job. Would have them back in a heartbeat for any further work needed. They were the only service company to communicate with me as they said they would Other service companies [landscaping], could take a few lessons from them and maybe be as successful as they are. Thumbs up Robert and crew."

"They were fast and efficient. The tree came down exactly as promised. They cleaned up all the debris. They did exactly what they promised and then gave us a great quote for an additional job while on site. I'm already planning on more trees next yeear."

"Ruben's Tree Services did an incredible job. We hired them to cut down our tree and grind the stump. They were outstanding proffesionals who did a fantastic job. The tree was in my backyard and hung over the house and shed so it was a difficult job and they made it look easy. They did a great job cleaning up as well. If you need work done at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend them."

"Contacted Rick Dinkard at Independence Tree Care on 5/1 requesting a quote. Rick came over on 5/4 and looked at the three trees and gave me a quote. The quote included a $50 off coupon. The first tree was a 50 foot pine tree next to a utility pole. The second tree was a 50 foot cherry tree that had started to die a few years ago and was rotting at the base of the trunk. And the third tree was a 25 foot evergreen that had started to hit our house on windy days. Rick's crew came over the morning of 5/9 and completed the job in about 4 hours. They moved a neighbors RV that was parked next to the pine tree to keep from any damage. The person that did most of the cutting did a very professional job. The crew cleaned up all of the branches and raked the yard. On 5/12, the stump of the huge cherry tree was removed in about 30 minutes with a very impressive machine. And finally, on 5/19, the debris from the stump was removed.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

You will know that an oak tree needs to be removed when you see vertical cracks or dead branch stubs, which indicate internal decay. Other signs include trunk rot near the base of the tree and sprouts or small branches coming from the trunk.

In some states and municipalities, you will need a permit to remove a tree on your property. In many cases where permits are required, a tree must reach a maximum height before a permit is required to remove it. You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.
