Small jobs welcome

"They were very professional. They provided a good estimate and stuck with it. They called before coming for the job. They came to the job site on time. They went right to work and worked continuously until the job was done. They did an excellent job cleaning up the site. The day before the scheduled, we requested the removal of a smaller tree, which was agreed to after a quick review and added cost. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and we highly recommend Woodchopper's."

Small jobs welcome

"Brian was right on time and got the job done fast and carefully. We had him remove a 6? tree growing through a fence & take out two small trees growing up next to the house. The fence had to be taken down so he could access the stump which was really close to the AC unit. Once he did the prep work of rolling the fence back and protecting the AC from any potential flying debris, he got the stump out, put the fence back in place and was finished in a short time. The two little trees were easily dispatched as well. Great service!"

"Jordan and his crew came out multiple times to my property. Everyone was very professional and easy to work with. Had some pretty challenging trees that need to be dropped and they did it with ease. Did a great job cleaning up the yard as well. Highly recommend. And will have them out for more work."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

Trimming a tree can take anywhere from just two hours to a full day, depending on the age of the tree, the number of trees, and the species. Young trees are generally easier to trim, as their branches are often thinner in diameter and easier to reach compared to mature trees. They also tend to be healthier. If you haven’t trimmed your trees before or it’s been a while, the process could take even longer.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large.

Monitor the fire closely to ensure it doesn’t spread, and have a hose on hand if it starts to get out of control. When the fire is out, break apart the burned stump and dig out what’s left of it.

If this sounds like a good option, learn more about how to burn a tree stump before attempting it, as it does come with risks.
