Customers say: True professional

"Dave, once again, did a fantastic job. I live in a small old, old house and he tackled all the problems that come with working on a house that is tight on space and just plain crooked with ease. He's great at answering questions and trying to help you find solutions to problems that aren't even on his list of "to-dos". He doesn't just care about getting the job done he cares about the person or family in the home as if it was his own family. If you are looking to renovate a preexisting space, Diamondwood is your team."

"This team did a flawless job from Quote to follow up after the project was complete. Costs was reasonable. Projects started and finished on time. They replaced a rotting garage door, installed a brand new door on the opposite side of the garage. Redesigned and installed a small deck and redesigned the deck inside the garage. Installed a light with a switch and the most important thing, a dog door. Thank you to the team that helped throughout the project. I would highly recommend them and will be reaching out for future quotes on home projects."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals can offer design advice and material selections that complement existing architecture.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Yes, most designers tailor plans to fit your budget. Discuss financial constraints during initial consultations.

Yes, pros can offer guidance to achieve desired aesthetics and match existing decor.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.
