"R&M Tree Services.....Thank you for taking care of our tree removal....it was done with expertise and precise removal to ensure our house and garage would be well protected! It's a family business....husband, wife and young son....who work hard to ensure the project is done professionally and safely! This is the second time we have hired them...and will be hiring them again as the need arises....we also recommend them to neighbors and friends! It is nice to see a family working together, they have very high work ethnics! Prices were very reasonable, clean up great and very friendly. Give them a try....you won't be disappointed!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.

Yes, healthy and well-placed large trees can boost property value by an average of 3% to 15%. They improve curb appeal, offer energy savings through shade and wind protection, and are often considered by appraisers during home valuation. On the flip side, removing dead or hazardous trees can also increase value by eliminating safety risks. For the biggest return, choose low-maintenance, native species that thrive in your climate.

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

The average tree pruning should take one hour with the right equipment. Light pruning of a small tree may only take around 15 to 20 minutes. Pruning multiple large trees in your yard will probably take several hours, including cleanup. However, tree pruning pros can do this job much faster, so you can rely on pros if you’re short on time.
