"Matt K and his crew did a very thorough job with interior and exterior work to waterproof our foundation and basement. They were running behind on another job so were a bit delayed in getting started but made up for it by working through part of the weekend to finish up."

"I recently purchased a home and the inspector recommended I get the foundation inspected. Bobby Whitus inspected my crawl space and he was very professional. He did not find any problems with the foundation (so honest!). He was polite, treated my house with respect, and if I need additional services, I would definitely use this company again."

"MIxed bag...We asked for a matte finish which we were told they would use, as I felt the high shine would be more chances for slips and falls. We did not get a matte finish. He answered our calls in a timely manner and said he really doesn't work with matte finish. I thought he should have told us that at the outset. He sent the worker back, who put another coat of finish on which is more matte, but lots of shiny areas show through. A part of the stamp must have been crushed/broken because the "grout" lines were about 1/8 to 1/4 inchs, but in some of the corners it was spread out sort of flattened to about 1/2 inch. Not a huge deal, but noticeable on inspection. It is pilot error (my fault) when picking colors, as I am not happy at all, even though I went to see another house that had the colors. I chose a gray cement with charcoal colorant (they throw on top to fill in like grout/texture) It just looks like a dirty mess. As expected, they cleaned the area when dry with a power wash, but washed the powdery stuff on to the driveway and the plants we have at the foundation. They came back in a timely manner when called and power washed the stuff down the driveway further, but not off the driveway, so we will have to rent a power washer to finish the job. All personnel were pleasant."

"We had a basement that always had water in it almost year round. We decided to sell the house and move to North Carolina. Still trying to sell the home we decided to have a French Drain System put in with a bleeder line, as it would not sell as it was. The Stay Dry team was excellent from start to finish. Their team was professional and was accommodating to the fact that we needed to keep the home clean due to selling it and took extra steps to ensure no contamination spread to the rest of the house. After the job was done I have had zero issues with water and we are closing on our home today. Thank you so much for your hard work and courtesy Stay Dry! Pictures below are just after washing and cleaning. It appears wet but was completely dry the next day."

"

It went well. My only complaint is that I was very specific weeks in advance which work i wanted done after the guy came out to see everything. I wanted nearly everything they bid on, including gas log sets.  For some reason they seemed unaware of that detail so I had to wait an additional week and schedule a second day to wait for that to be installed. They have certain guys who do certain types of work, so you may be waiting for several different employees to come and do the work at different times.  Never having had a chimney repaired or even know what a Mason does, this was all new to me.

They called in advanced and let me know when they were coming.  They were neat and cleaned up after themselves and had tarps to protect my floor so everything was tidy when they left and no debris was left behind.  Everyone was polite. They answered all my questions and made sure I undertood how everything worked.  The ladies in the office seem to organize everything. I was not aware that I had to pay an extra 2% to use my credit card and was not prepared for that. They did a good job and I would call them again

The flashing on my chimney is rather unattractive since it shows on the front of my house.  Since I am going to paint soon, I may take the color into consideration to hide it. Apparently there is no way to make it less obvious.  I now have two safe, working fireplaces and have peace of mind.  Im thrilled I dont need to light the gas line with a match anymore and simplly turn a knob and have warmth and glow.

"I'm very happy with the service I received from Edge Plumbing. I had an emergency with my plumbing and needed my drain cleaned out the night before a holiday. Travis responded almost immediately upon choosing him as one of the plumbing services near me. He came over that night, and then returned the next morning at 8 AM. Very prompt and communication was constant. He got my drains all cleaned out, but found a break in my line which needed to be repaired. He identified where the exact location of the break and was very helpful working with the excavator to get my line repaired. I'm very pleased with his service, communication, timeliness, and very fair cost. I would definitely use Edge Plumbing again."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Proper drainage prevents water damage, mold growth, and foundation settling, protecting your home’s structural integrity.

Costs range from $2,000 to $7,000, depending on system type and excavation requirements.

Walkout basements cost more than other kinds of basements, and can also increase your risk of leaks as well as a loss of insulation, leading to higher heating and cooling costs. Improperly installed walkout basements may lead to structural issues with your foundation, so ensure you’re working with a contractor who has extensive experience with this kind of basement.

Not all window wells have a formal drain, but they all require a method for water to flow away from the window. Some wells are connected to an interior or exterior drain tile, which is the most effective solution. Others rely on a deep layer of gravel or crushed stone that allows water to filter down into the soil.

However, if a window well lacks a proper drainage system, it can lead to basement seepage, costly water damage, mold growth, and potential foundation damage. This is especially true in areas with heavy rainfall or expansive soil.

If your window well doesn't have a drain or is not draining quickly enough, you have a few options. For gravel-based systems, the stone may have compacted and needs to be improved. For a more robust solution, you can hire a plumber or window installer to connect the well to a drainage system. This can also be a DIY project using a shovel or auger.

It depends on what caused your basement flooding, the extent of the problem, and the risk of the flood continuing. If your flood is coming from a septic system or sewer line, breathing in the sewer gasses can be dangerous, so you should vacate. If the flood occurs from an ongoing natural disaster, relocating to a safe area might be wise. If you just have a plumbing leak or rainwater coming in, you can likely stay in the house if you don’t have electrical lines down there, but make sure you call in professionals to fix the issue immediately.
