"Didn't clean up all of the wet footprints on the floor and wash-streaks from the shower tile. Didn't get the top of one cabinet that was heavily soiled from kitchen grease and dust cleaned down to a clean top - a difficult one for us to reach. Overall, however, was excellent."

"Update: Company reached out to us to resolve the issue! Paid for two people an hour. One lady came with her daughter who could not have been more then 12 years old. Those were the two people. They came to a post-renovation clean up with just a broom and a mop to clean the wood floors. The lady mentioned that there was so much dust and she did her best with the broom and once she started mopping the dust clumped up. I wish she used a vacuum cleaner instead... a broom was not enough. The company assured that it would be top to bottom cleaning but the light fixtures upstairs had a ton of dust on them. So did the window area. The company also wanted you to be 100% satisfied before they left. I had them clean the light fixtures before they left. Unfortunately i had to get back to work and could not have them clean the bathroom floors. They lady mentioned her daughter cleaned the bathroom floors by hand... but there were obvious brown dirt spots on multiple white tiles that I was able to scratch off. The owners were super nice and so were the people cleaning. , i just wish i had more time to be able to have them go over areas. If you want light cleaning around the house this is the place to go! For cleaning after post construction, i would go somewhere else."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Whether or not a cleaner brings supplies also depends on their preference. Some cleaning services require the homeowner to supply cleaning products and a few basic materials (sponges, paper towels, rags, a mop, and vacuum, for example), but others bring everything they need to get in, clean, and get out.

You can always ask whether or not they bring their cleaning supplies, and if so, make sure you’re comfortable with what they use. If you prefer organic or natural products, for example, you may need to supply them or pay a premium.

Your floor sees a lot of action: foot traffic bringing in dirt from outside, pets with muddy paws, kids dropping food crumbs, and more. All of this makes your floors dirty, and if you don’t keep up with cleaning them, staying on top of the dirt will become more challenging.

The most effective toilet tank cleaners include commercial cleaning products, but for DIY purposes, white vinegar is best. Vinegar can help kill bacteria and remove mineral buildup from your toilet tank, but it won’t harm the necessary bacteria in your septic tank as some commercial products can. For the best clean, hire a professional to choose the most aggressive cleaning product that’s still safe for your septic tank, or use white vinegar and a scrub brush to do the cleaning yourself.

Though it may seem like a lot of work to keep an attic in tip-top shape, the truth is that you only need to deep clean this space once a year. In the meantime, check on it roughly once a month to make sure there are no leaks, remove cobwebs, and air out unwanted odors to ensure it looks and feels great between annual cleaning sessions.

Yes. Baking soda and vinegar—when diluted with water—are safe to use to clean sticky laminate floors.
