In contrast, epoxy countertops cost $50 to $150 per square foot to install. The material costs for epoxy are significantly lower than granite, but installation costs can be higher. The least porous countertop material is engineered quartz. Made from a blend of natural quartz and resins, it is non-porous and highly resistant to stains, scratches, and bacteria. Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizing agent that cleans without bleaching surfaces, which is why it’s so popular as a budget-friendly cleaner. However, it’s still somewhat acidic, so you should use it sparingly on certain countertops.
