"He did a great job removing an old hot tub from our back deck and hauled it all away. He came at the time we set up to fit our schedule. I would hire this company again. Great work, personable and reasonably priced."

"Arrived on time in great equipment - three guys ready to lift! They. were friendly and efficient. They collected junk and stuff from three condo neighbors and packed it in so we got a very reasonable price. They do sort stuff so real trash is …trashed, but recyclables and re-use stuff is taken to appropriate places. I rank them one of the best services of a variety of kinds that I have used. We will call them again. And again."

"I hired Rico to power wash my driveway and sidewalks before the house was put up for sale. He arrived on time and worked steadily. The drive had been badly stained black by leaves over the years and was a real challenge. The stains were gone and the pictures turned out great. Thank you Rico!"

"This company was amazing. They didn?t disappoint at all. Came in, did the moving job and even hauled away things I didn?t need. If I can give them more than a five star rating, I would. They do not disappoint, trust me."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

If you have a construction company on-site carrying out demolition or construction, the company will often include language in your contract about who is responsible for post-construction cleanup and brick disposal. If you’re responsible, you’ll have to hire a junk removal company or haul the material to a local recycling facility yourself. Double-check your contract before signing to see which party is responsible.

A land-clearing project begins with assessing and preparing the property and pulling any necessary permits with your municipal building department. Clearing can begin after the project details are ironed out between you and your pro and a written contract is signed. Pros will bring out the necessary equipment and crew to first remove trees, stumps, brush, and vegetation. Your pro will then load up and haul away the project debris, and depending on the project, they may finish by grading the cleared land.

Not every, but many, states classify fluorescent tubes and CFL light bulbs as hazardous waste that need to be disposed of in a specified manner. California defines its list of hazardous fluorescent tubes as follows:

  • Fluorescent tubes, including low mercury tubes.

  • Compact fluorescents, including low mercury lamps

  • Metal halide lamps, such as floodlights for  large indoor and outdoor areas and gymnasiums

  • Sodium lamps, such as those sometimes used as security lighting and outdoor floodlights

  • Mercury vapor lamps, such as those sometimes used for street lighting

When it comes to disposing of mattresses, metal, and untreated wood items, these are typically recyclable. In comparison, things like treated wood, chipboard or particleboard, and some types of sofa foam padding aren’t. Older items of furniture also often contain chemicals that are a health hazard. However, it might be possible to break the furniture down and recycle some, if not all, of the pieces. Contact your government trash management division or a local, authorized recycling center for more advice.

Yes, most furniture can be thrown in a dumpster. Wood items like tables, chairs, and bookshelves are generally acceptable. However, some areas have regulations prohibiting the disposal of mattresses and upholstered furniture in a dumpster. It's important to check with both the dumpster rental company for their guidelines and your local waste authority for any specific rules or potential extra fees.
