"Quinonez Tree Service did an excellent job, taking down two tall dead trees, both located at the fence between my and our neighbor's yard, requiring our neighbor's full cooperation. There was significant vegetation surrounding the base of each tree which required extra work and care. Although the trunk of each tree was located in my yard, about 90% of the work, including the staging of the operation and the location of virtually all of cuttings, occurred in our neighbor's yard. I needed to have confidence in advance that everything would be done correctly not just for my satisfaction but especially for my neighbor's. After receiving this confidence in my conversation with Helen along with a competitive price (lower than that of the two other companies who gave estimates), I engaged Quinonez Tree Service. On the day of the removal of the trees, Helen returned with a large number of workers from her family and all the equipment necessary to complete the job, including the big chipper machine which they located in my neighbor's driveway with my neighbor's support obtained in advance. Their work was done effectively and efficiently. They cleaned up both my yard and my neighbor's yard and driveway. At my request, Helen left me a full bin of wood chips for my garden. I highly recommend Quinonez Tree Service. Helen is an outstanding representative of the company. She provides excellent customer service, explaining everything I needed to know about the job, assuring me that the removal of the two trees and subsequent cleanup would be done with our complete satisfaction -- and that of our neighbors -- at a competitive price. Helen and her company delivered on all of this in just over two hours."

"Excellent work! This was a huge tree and they got it done quicker than I expected. Alex and his guys were awesome and worked hard. The only downside is all the wood chips to clean up which will probably take me all month or longer to get rid of. But these guys worked harder than anyone I have ever seen. I highly recommend them!"

"Travis and his team were professional from our first contact through completion of the project. The project included removing brush, sodding and building a stone retaining wall. Travis helped me through the design and as a project manager was readily available to answer questions. The landscape team was amazing. They worked tirelessly to make sure the project was completed quickly. I highly recommend Design One."

"Today, we had Godoyâ s Tree Service remove an 80â tall dead pine tree that had been snapped at the base of the trunk and fell into a large maple tree in a neighborâ s yard, where it was caught. We had heavy wind last week that broke this tree. The situation was a perilous one: the tree could have fully snapped off at the base with the trunk slamming outward and the top of the tree dropping on the neighborâ s fence and roof, or the top could have shifted and fallen with the same result. This was not a job we could have done. The crew arrived a bit before the appointed time, worked together extremely well together. This was a complicated job which required focus and expertise. Mr. Godoy led his crew through the slinging, strapping, cutting, sectioning and moving the tree to a standing position away from the neighborâ s house and completely missing the fence. It was then carefully dropped into our yard. The tree was then cut up, and removed and chipped. The ground was extremely water-logged from many days of heavy rain and flooding. The tracked machine which helped pull and stabilize the tree and then carry away all of the wood did leave ruts. However, this was something we anticipated. The crew raked up all of the debris and then raked the ground and grass to pull up the ruts and sod. Great care and attention was given to my tree and yard, so as to put it back as carefully as they could. The yard was left clean and intact. I donâ t think anyone but a very experienced leader and crew could have done this work without causing great damage to the neighborâ s house, yard, or fence - or to ours. I watched the entire process and was fascinated and impressed with the focus and work ethic of the entire crew. We highly recommend Godoyâ s Tree Service to anyone including family, and would certainly hire them again."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Trimming a rose bush is similar to cutting back your shrubs or other bushes.

First, you’ll start by removing old, damaged, or diseased branches from the base. Next, thin out the plant's interior by removing thin, weak branches. Finally, you’ll want to cut off buds where the leaves meet the stem.

Trim away using a 45-degree angle, as this will help with water runoff and promote new growth outward.

Remove household junk, construction debris, yard waste, and old appliances.

To remove a shrub, start by cutting back the shrub using pruning shears, loppers, or a chainsaw. Next, dig around the base of the shrub with a pointed shovel to expose its root system. Then, use a shovel or a mattock to loosen the roots, making it easier to pull or lift the shrub from the ground. For larger shrubs or stubborn root systems, attaching a chain or strap to the base and using a vehicle to pull it out can be effective. Ensure proper disposal of the shrub and its debris following local waste disposal guidelines.

Using a leaf blower is often the easiest way to pick up leaves. It quickly and efficiently gathers leaves into manageable piles, requiring less physical effort than manual raking. Additionally, you can choose to bag the collected leaves or use a mulching mower to break them down into natural mulch, simplifying the cleanup process further.

It’s possible to over-mulch leaves. If the leaf mulch is thick enough that it’s blocking and smothering the grass, that’s a problem. Ideally, you should still be able to see the grass when you’re done mulching to ensure its ability to continue growing. The solution is to make another pass at the top layer of leaf mulch to collect some of the top layer.
