"They were very quick to respond when contacted through this site. They were able to schedule the inspection within 3 business days which was nice as I was expecting 1-2 weeks. Haven't received the results yet so no further services have been used but will definitely use them for the remediation should it come to that."

"Jim did a great and thorough job. Incredibly friendly and also gave advice on certain areas in the home that needed fixing. If we were waiting on results he updated how long it would be. First home inspector to not bombard with phone calls as well which I appreciated. Definitely recommend if your in his service area."

"Was amazing about getting my house both tested for lead paint and then having the lead paint encapsulated on the exterior of my home. I had to have the exterior of my home repainted before a certain date as a requirement for my FHA loan and they got it done as soon as the weather permitted."

"We searched online for asbestos removal for floor tile in our utility room. EnviroGo got back to us very quickly, and I was very happy with both the price they quoted us and how the kept us up-to-date and informed on the entire process. Noreen was an absolute wonderful contact person, and the entire team was friendly and answered all our questions. The work was done quickly and efficiently, the entire removal went exactly as was described and we were very pleased with the results. I absolutely would recommend contacting EnviroGo to anyone here in and around Lansing, Michigan. They kept us informed of their progress and their dedication to safety was very much appreciated."

"We had a special situation, and Epic was the only company willing to come out to help us evaluate the best location for installation. Installer was great - he recognized asbestos tile on the basement floor, and recommended appropriate remediation service. System is basically invisible - no ugly pipe up the outside of the house! Follow-up test shows radon level reduced to well under recommended minimum."

"The job was asbestos remediation in a three car garage packed with trash. A junk removal company had already removed three trucks worth of stuff before they discovered the loose friable asbestos which we thought had been contained as a roll in a cabinet. It was a nightmare. Joe and Paul did a great job of making the garage safe. They hauled away two dumpsters worth of contaminated stuff. I am so happy a company like US Asbestos exists!"

"Rick from Midest Enviro Solutions was beyond amazing! For starters, Rick's inspection, communication and quote was extremely thorough. Secondly, he beat his competitors (two as a matter of fact) by half in price. Last but most importantly, the job was WELL DONE!! Oh and did I mention Rick's wonderful disposition? If not, it's certainly worth mentioning as he has an excellent way of making a nervous seller feel safe in knowing the job will be done well. Needless to say, I/we will be referring everyone to Midwest Enviro Solutions (in particular Rick). Thanks again!! 🙂"

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Toxic mold doesn't have a specific color; instead, toxicity depends on the type of mold and the mycotoxins it produces. Stachybotrys chartarum (also known as black mold) is notorious for its potential toxicity. However, not all molds appearing black are Stachybotrys chartarum. Mold species that appear in various colors, such as green, gray, brown, or black, can also produce mycotoxins. Therefore, it's essential to focus on identifying the type of mold through professional testing rather than relying solely on color to determine its toxicity.

Toxic drywall has a sulfur smell, similar to rotten eggs or poop. It’s often a sign that the drywall mud is expired, there’s mold or mildew growth, or there’s a leak in your home. Drywall can also absorb moisture during storage, transportation, or installation, resulting in a distinct musty odor.

Figuring out why you have a musty smell in your house is the first step to getting rid of it. Mold or mildew is most likely causing the unpleasant odor. People use these terms interchangeably, but they’re actually different.

Mold is a fungus that loves to grow in moist, humid places. It’s typically black or green and has a raised, uneven texture. Stay vigilant for signs mold may be growing in your home.

You’ll find mildew growing on your shower walls and in your bathroom’s nooks and crannies. It’s a specific type of mold that grows flat. Mildew is usually white, gray, or yellow.

Mold on window sills is common, especially in damp or poorly ventilated areas. Windows are prone to condensation, which creates the moisture mold needs to grow. Dust, dirt, and other debris on the sills can further feed mold spores. While it’s not unusual, it should be addressed quickly to prevent further growth and potential health risks.

Yes, if installed correctly. Moisture barrier padding blocks dampness from reaching the padding core and subfloor, where mold loves to grow, especially in humid environments like basements. However, poor installation with gaps or loose seams can do the exact opposite, trapping moisture and creating mold problems. So, make sure to do your installation carefully or hire a professional.
