"Good communication, professional, courteous and clean up was thorough. We waited a few months before doing a rating to experience a few heavy rains. We are extremely happy with having a dry usable basement. We usually don't do ratings but All Ways Dry exceeded our expectations!"

"The estimate to waterproof our leak in the basement was very close to actual cost. Work performed has been the best solution any other company has done previously in other sections of our basement."

"I am totally delighted with my basement waterproofing job. HomeSpec did an unbelievable job in diagnosing my problem, which was huge! I have never worked with a more competent contractor in my life! The workmen, led by John Davis and his terrific crew...Kevin, Dave, Tyler and so many others were the absolute best! Polite, efficient, extremely hard working (like I ve never witnessed in my life!) and just generally the BEST! I pray they make a lot of money!!!!! The cleanup was outstanding! Frankly, if anyone is looking for a basement waterproofer, I wouldn t call anyone else!!! They are THE BEST! Thank you HomeSpec! Kathy"

"We are very satisfied with their work. Workers were very professional and the hardest working group I have ever seen. They installed an under the floor drainage system along a 60 foot basement wall. We have had no water on our basement floor since it was installed 2 months ago. We have had multiple downpours since then. We had water on our basement floor every time it rained before their installation. We highly recommend them."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

No, you don’t want your crawl space to be wet because water and even moisture in the air under your home can attract insects and rodents, decrease your indoor air quality, increase your energy bills, promote mold growth, and even lead to structural damage. If you notice any signs of water or humidity in your crawl space, you should get the issues addressed immediately by contacting a professional. They can remove moisture and will know how to waterproof your basement to prevent ongoing problems.

It’s not the number of weep holes that should be of concern to builders but rather their spacing. Weep holes are usually spaced anywhere between 16 inches on center when using round tubes or wicking materials and 24 inches on center when using open-head joints. This is a more conservative spacing than the 33-inch maximum spacing on center that’s mentioned in the International Residential Code. All in all, the total number of weep holes a brick exterior should have will depend on the size of the structure.

Installing a bathroom in a basement isn’t a project for most homeowners. Many parts—plumbing, electricity, and carpentry—go into this project, each requiring expert-level knowledge and tools. One miscalculation can lead to very expensive repairs. Plus, some homeowner’s insurance might not pay for damages caused by a homeowner DIYing this project. You can protect yourself by allowing the pros to complete this job for you.

While it’s possible to seal a foundation yourself, it’s not recommended, as it’s a tricky and labor-intensive job. Foundation sealing is best left to the pros to save yourself time, remove the risk of doing it wrong, and keeping yourself safe. Call a foundation repair professional near you to see what the job will cost.

Whether to waterproof your basement from the interior or exterior depends on several factors, including your budget.

Exterior waterproofing is generally considered the superior method because it stops water at the source, preventing it from seeping into and damaging your basement walls. This approach offers the most protection, making it ideal if you use your basement for storage.

By contrast, interior waterproofing is often less expensive and requires less labor because the area is more accessible.

For maximum protection against water leakage and moisture, applying waterproofing measures to both the inside and outside is the best solution. However, if you must choose only one, stopping water from the outside is the most effective approach to preserve your foundation and prevent damage.
