He sent documentation and responses in a timely manner and even took extra time out of his day to send me some links of things I asked for. Their prices were lower than all other companies that quoted us (for the same exact work). I was home on the 2 days where the insulation was put in, and the people completing the work were respectful and always seemed to be working very efficiently. "The team had such a lack of regard and care for my home and personal belongings, that I am actually extremely concerned about the parts of the job that I cannot see behind the walls and in the attic. The team did not clean, move, cover anything as promised by the sales team and advertised on the website. Many of my kids toys, wagons, strollers, and some tools were ruined. Some of the toys were thrown out and I spent hours cleaning and scrubbing my garage. The application of the foam itself was also a disaster. The foam leaked through the recessed cans and into the bathroom fans, since they were not appropriately covered. There was full material on my carpet in the bedrooms. The fans had to be replaced. The company did ultimately repair the drywall in the garage, but cannot replace the hours of work I personally had to do in cleaning up their mess, and fixing the light cans, bathroom fans, cleaning the carpet."

Insulating ducts prevent or significantly reduce condensation by reducing temperature differences between the duct surface and surrounding air. Proper insulation also minimizes sweating, improves energy efficiency, and prevents moisture damage. However, if humidity levels are unusually high or there are air leaks, additional measures like sealing ducts and using a dehumidifier may be needed.

Reflective and high R-value batt or roll insulation are often considered energy-efficient, offering significant thermal resistance benefits.

Excluding carpet, strand-woven bamboo provides excellent underfoot heat. Laminate flooring is also good for insulation and preventing cold feet in the winter. Bamboo tends to work better in climates that have more consistent temperatures, while laminate does a better job at insulating floors in homes that experience more extreme temperature changes, such as the deciduous climates of the northeastern U.S.

If you're replacing insulation, it's a good idea to remove the old insulation before adding new. This is especially true if the existing insulation has suffered from water damage or been exposed to pests. You also need to remove old insulation if you'll be installing a new and different type of insulation, such as trading roll or batt insulation for spray foam.

We recommend that you cut batts of fiberglass insulation with a sharp utility knife. However, in a pinch, you can use tools such as a box cutter or even a pair of scissors. No matter what cutting tool you use, just make sure it’s sharp so you get a clean, straight cut. Always cut along the back (foil) side of the fiberglass, rather than the “fuzzy” side of the material.
