"Great service. Came out and repaired and cleaned fireplaces and checked the bricks and mortar. Charged me $100 to come out. Chimney place in Holly wanted $329 for 1st fireplace and $299 for 2nd fireplace to come out. That price included a mandatory cleaning. Crazy!! Sanford was reasonable, efficient, and friendly. Definitely recommend."

Shut-off valves, like any other piece of metal hardware, can corrode, age, get worn down, and eventually break or rust into place. Occasionally spray your shut-off valve with WD-40 to stall it from rusting. Yes, you can store a propane tank, whether it is full or empty. Remember that the container is contaminated with hazardous materials once it has housed propane, but as long as it’s properly placed in a well-ventilated, temperature-controlled space, a tank is unlikely to cause issues whether it is full of propane or not.

For example, if there’s a small gas leak somewhere that’s easy to access, the cost could be on the lower side. On the other hand, repairing buried lines and lines in other hard-to-reach areas will be more expensive.

You may want to remove the gas line if it’s unsightly or if it’s causing a problem with future appliances. The downside is if you decide to go back to gas, you would need to run a new gas line to the area.  The average cost to run a new gas line is $550, but the installation can range anywhere from $120 to $1,350.
