Small jobs welcome

With over a decade of electrical experience, I provide reliable, detail-oriented service as a solo electrician. My expertise is in residential work, including service calls, remodels and new construction, with additional experience in light commercial projects. As a smaller company, i focus on quality over quantity, taking on projects that allow me to deliver personal attention and dependable results. I'm committed to clear communication, clean workmanship, and building long-term trust with every customer.

"The only problem I had with NextGen was that the city came to me after the installation and said there was no electrical permit pulled for the job and that the local electric company should have opened our electrical service, not NextGen."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

DIY is not recommended for commercial settings due to safety regulations. Hire licensed professionals for compliance.

GFCI outlets should be clearly labeled with LINE and LOAD labels, with arrows leading to the proper terminals. The line terminals are typically at the top, and the load terminals are typically at the bottom.

Yes, electric fences need power to operate. They are powered by either a battery or an electrical outlet. In heavy snow or extreme rain, or if the power goes out, your electric fence might stop working. Knowing how to test an electric fence is important for figuring out if the fence is still functioning properly.

If the electrical wires you’re working with are too short, one of the easiest ways to elongate it is to extend them with a push-in connector. These user-friendly tools help you splice two wires together with little fuss or the need for extra tools, like a crimping tool, which is an older way of extending wires. As long as you can stripe the ends of a wire, using a push-in connector shouldn’t be an issue.
