"Prompt response… very professional! I have been without a sink for two weeks, called a few companies and no follow up.. "We have had considerable work done on our home over the past year and our experience with Dennis and Mark was by far the very best. They arrived on time, both have a wonderful work ethic and attention to detail. The tile work done by Dave is perfect. The pricing was very fair for the job which included totally gutting and replacing the flooring, tile, removing a fiberglass shower and replacing with a beautiful tiled shower, installing new vanity, toilet, etc. We also had exterior window sill and trim work done. My only regret is that we didn't have A & D do all the renovations in our home. I would highly recommend and would look no further should we do any more home projects."

"Aron did a great job trimming our granite countertop to fit in a new stove. He did this and cleaned/ sealed our entire countertop within a 4 hr timeframe and cleaned the worksite well at the end. Butcher block countertops are durable, but wood is generally susceptible to extreme heat, so you should avoid placing hot pots and pans directly on a butcher block counter. It all comes down to rarity and demand. Granite rocks with unique patterns or rare colorways like red, purple, and blue are more expensive than traditional designs. Some types of blue granite are extremely rare, like Azul Aran and Blue Bahia, driving the price up even further. The most expensive type of all is a unique design called Van Gogh granite. As the name suggests, it sort of looks like a painting. 

Gray is always a safe bet when painting concrete countertops, since concrete is a variation of gray. You may also choose black or white, but those are much starker colors that only do well in certain kitchens. 

The best finish for butcher block countertops depends on their intended use. If you plan to use the surface for food prep and cutting, a food-safe oil like mineral oil or tung oil is recommended. These oils provide a water-resistant, velvety matte finish but require regular reapplication. If the countertops are primarily for appearance or serving, a stain can add color and sheen. Polyurethane is another option, but it tends to show scratches more prominently, making it less ideal if you plan to cut directly on the surface.

A minimum overhang of 10 to 12 inches is generally recommended for countertop or island seating to provide enough legroom. For increased comfort, an overhang of 15 to 18 inches is ideal, allowing for more space and a relaxed experience. However, a 10-inch overhang can be sufficient in certain situations, such as for bar-height countertops, when using small stools, or in smaller kitchens where space is limited. Taller countertops may also require less overhang than shorter ones. Ultimately, you should consider your specific needs for legroom and measure to ensure the overhang fits comfortably within your kitchen's layout.
