"They demonstrated excellence in understanding the need, responsiveness, communicating every action to be taken ahead of time, calculating a fair estimate, explaining options for replacement, timeliness, and exceeding all expectations. Our technician, Zach Womer was outstanding in diagnosing the issues with my water heater, recommending replacements by listing the strengths and limitations of each choice, explaining the installation, confirming the availability of the replacement, estimating installation timing accurately, completing the job thoroughly and neatly, and most of all always staying in touch including after the services were provided. Poseidon and Zach are outstanding and deserving of customers' confidence."

"

First of all, 75 gallon gas water heaters are very difficult to come by at this time.  When I initially called Mr. Stephens, he worked very, very hard to find one for me.  In addition, he gave me the most reasonable quote for the job of the several calls I made.  Furthermore, all of the other companies I called for comparison insisted on making an initial inspection that would cost me.  Mr. Stephens was willing to work off of pictures that I sent him and information that I gave him from an earlier inspection.  He worked on the project from the time I called and even into the evening.  He was extremely professional and I plan to call him in the future for all plumbing needs.  I feel relieved to know that I have a plumber to call on that I can count on that is knowledgeable, reliable and reasonable in price.  I would recommend him to everyone.

Overall, from the very first phone call I made to him, I had the impression he wasn't taking on the job just to make a buck, but he enjoyed his work, and wanted to satisfy his customer and do it right.  He demonstrated this through his consistent efforts in finding the heater and getting the job done quickly so I could have hot water restored quickly.  He could very easily have asked for more money but did the right thing.  He's a gem and a good find!

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

A single shower consumes an average of over 17 gallons, while brushing your teeth with the water running uses up to four unnecessary gallons. Watering the lawn spreads hundreds of gallons of water across the yard each time. Limiting water usage in these areas can significantly cut down your water bill.

Not all types of water heaters require a venting system. Electric tankless water heaters don’t use natural or propane gas, so no venting is required. Instead, they use electric burners to heat water quickly and efficiently. However, any system that does use gas or propane will require ventilation.

Electric water heaters typically last 10 to 20 years, though proper maintenance can extend their lifespan. If your unit is over a decade old and showing signs of inefficiency—such as higher energy bills, frequent repairs, or leaks—replacement is a smart investment. Tankless models last over 20 years, which can make them a longer-lasting alternative to traditional tank water heaters.

While heat pump water heaters are more expensive than gas-powered water heaters, the ROI is higher for heat pump units. Not only are heat pump water heaters more energy efficient, meaning immediate savings on your energy bill, but they also last longer than traditional gas versions, meaning you won't have to buy them as often.

When replacing an old unit, you might want to switch from a gas water heater to an electric water heater or vice versa. To do this, you will likely need to add infrastructure to the area. For example, you likely don’t have a gas line that served your old electric water heater. You’d have to call a plumber to put in a new gas line. If you’re replacing a gas unit with an electric one, the plumber will need to safely cap the old gas line. You will then need an electrician to add wiring for the new electric unit.
