"I have nothing but good things to say about Gary Howard Sr. and Gary Howard Jr. of Perryhall Remodeling. I had storm damage that resulted in an assortment of things to be repaired. Gary Sr. and Gary Jr are truly caring professionals. Some of the work had to be subcontracted (chimney and roofing) and they hired excellent contractors. They were attentive to any concerns that we had during the process. They made sure that everything was completed in a reasonable amount of time and the end result of all aspects are beautiful. Hire them; you won't be sorry."

"Joe Delfine from JD Michael Construction was the general contractor/project manager for a whole house renovation. Joe supported our process from pre-purchase of the house through the renovation and working the inspection list for our eventual sale. Joe managed every aspect of the renovation managing more than 25 subcontractors and a budget close to $150,000. This included formal renovation design, permitting, scheduling, subcontractor management, financial management procurement, scheduling, and safety and quality control. Joe's tenants of safety, quality and timeliness were key to our successful and profitable renovation. The job consisted of: design, complete demolition of the interior/exterior down to bare studs, demolition and removal of a two story concrete out building, procurement of materials and oversight for new siding and roof, all new windows, electrical and plumbing, subfloor repair and installation, new hardwood/carpet/tile flooring, new drywall throughout the entire house, paint, trim, cabinet/vanity installation, lighting, and more. This project was successful because JD Michael positively supported every aspect of the project. We are continuing to work with Joe/JD Michael Construction on another project as well as future projects."

"VKB far exceeded out expectations for our new kitchen design and installation; as well as, the resurfacing and stain/varnish to my existing floors and stairs. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome. Money was well spent. Base on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Jack and Suzanne McClinton."

"First, I had a high pressure salesman from another town (I didn't realize that until the salesman left) talk me into signing a contract before he would leave.   I had no idea the sales talk would exceed 3 hours.
The next day I had regrets and I looked up three local contractors and got through to two of them.   Supreme was the first firm I called and they answered the phone on the first ring.   They sent someone out two hours later to just look at the contract.   The representative assured me that I could do better than the estimate and that Supreme itself could better the estimate.    I told him that this time I was going to get three estimates, one of which would be his.    They had a special on shutters that was coming up so I scheduled Supreme's estimate last.
The other two competitors were good, but they too required a three hour session and I was getting really tired of discussing the pros and cons of vinyl windows that, quite frankly, all looked fine and were virtually indistinguishable.   What really concerned me, however, was that the two firms gave me virtually identical estimates and only after hearing about the initial estimate.   How does that happen with different firms selling different windows from different manufacturers?
At any rate, Al at Supreme came over and insisted that what we needed was composite windows given our neighborhood, appearance, etc.   They were a little more expensive but I was impressed that he "stuck to his guns" regarding what we really needed.   He gave us a good price and we signed the contract.
As for installation, these guys were pros.   They had clearly worked together as a team for a while.  They were in and out within 5 hours, having replaced 22 windows and 12 or so outside shutters during that time.   I was surprised that the house didn't get appreciably colder as they removed old windows and they used dropcloths everywhere so they left no mess at all.   The windows are just beautiful and you can just feel the difference.    I'm sure our bill will look better as well although we have not received one yet.
I had a question the day of installation and Al returned my phone call immediately, checked with the manufacturer and called back right away, setting my concern to rest.
From start to finish, they were professional, attentive, and authoritative -- no calls to managers, tortured negotiations, pressured sales, etc.   They knew they had a good product and they sold it without taking 3 hours to demonstrate insulation with heat lamps!

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Dark academia is more of an interior decorating style than it is a type of architecture, but it calls on themes prevalent in gothic architecture. Part of the appeal of dark academia is that you can achieve the look and feel without renovating or remodeling your home. Instead, you can switch to a dark color palette and introduce metal, natural wood furniture, plaid decor, old books, and gothic decor to get the look and feel just right.

You don’t have to commit to a complete home renovation to age in place comfortably—those can get pricey. Instead, focus on a few impactful changes. Consider adding a stair lift or installing ramps to eliminate barriers. Upgrading to non-slip flooring can prevent falls while adding brighter lighting can improve visibility throughout your home. These thoughtful updates can make your home much easier to navigate and enhance your comfort and safety without the stress and cost of a complete overhaul.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

Dekton is worth the money for homeowners who want a nonporous countertop that resists heat, stains, water, scratches, and UV damage. It comes in a wide array of colors and patterns at various price points to suit different renovation budgets. Dekton is not worth the cost for homeowners who are particularly worried about chipping or cracking.

Designing a building takes 2-6 months, depending on project size, required permits, and revisions.
