"Excellent job!! It was a pleasure working with E. Stanley Asphalt Paving. Joe did the estimate and was my contact and was there with the crew when the job was done. When Joe left during the paving, after having discussed the plan and what was being done, he introduced me to his father who stayed there until the job was done. Before the repaving the driveway was in bad shape and no work had been done on it for over 35 years but it now looks great! This is a top notch multigenerational family business. I highly recommend them."

"The job they did looks great. The patio price was less than the other estimates I got. The crew answered my questions about how they were doing things. Photos show before (green carpet and brick) and after (pavers). I would definitely use Outdoor Advantage again."

"Called for an estimate and the company came out and provided a free estimate for the spot I was looking to install a patio. Kyle provided a few options as I didn't know exactly what type of stone to go with. The estimate ended up coming in over $1k cheaper than the other companies. The job took a day to do and it was all coordinated over email because of my schedule. I just left the gate unlock. It looks great and is everything I imagined. I've gotten several compliments already. I would highly recommend company."

Customers say: True professional

"We hired MD Legacy to install a paver stone pad behind our shed, for our waste bins to sit on, and the whole process was a pleasure from start to finish. During the planning stage, Eric was always easy to reach by phone and text, and he was happy to accommodate all of our design choices. On the project day, his dad Reggie and a small crew installed the pavers to perfection. They were all so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure everything looked beautiful. They spread grass seed not only on the areas they disturbed, but on many other bare spots around our lawn, without my even asking. And they cleaned up the jobsite completely, leaving no trace of dirt or gravel. The resulting paver pad is absolutely stunning, and made from excellent quality materials. I look forward to calling Eric again in the spring to address our other landscaping issues!"

"Freedom Fence and Deck did outstanding work and was incredibly professional during the design and build phases of the project. I will also say that none of their competitors (high quality fence companies in the area) came close to accommodating my budget for this project, especially in light of how many customized features I requested for a 6’ cedar privacy fence. I am not exaggerating when I say that the excellent craftsmanship of the fence really pops and dramatically increases the property’s “curb appeal.” Their fence will almost certainly contribute to the overall sale value of my home in the future. However, the second most important part of a project like this, at least in my opinion, is the interaction I have with the company doing the work. And this was the best part of the process. The reason I am giving them such a high customer service rating is they demonstrated remarkable friendliness, patience, and flexibility during a design process that, frankly, was complicated by the fact I had never designed a fence before. The company, and especially their representative, remained approachable and good-humored. They also did everything they could to stick to the original price quoted in the estimate, even though the design changed—and definitely did not became cheaper. The bottom line is these guys delivered in a big way and they were a pleasure to work with, even though their client presented some challenges along the way."

"Re-graded asphalt drive next to garage to prevent water entering garage during storms. Difficult job that required forming a slight swale. Flawless! Weâ ve had huge storms and no water in garage. Professional crew, totally focused on the job. Would definitely hire again."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

There’s no single best asphalt grade—it all comes down to where and how it’s used. Highways and heavy-traffic roads need something tough, like polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) or Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA). Local roads and parking lots rely on the Performance Graded (PG) system, chosen based on climate. A PG 64-28 mix, for example, handles a broad temperature range while simpler, more cost-effective mixes are typically enough for residential driveways. The best grade of asphalt depends on traffic, weather, and your budget, which is why a professional’s input is always a smart move before making a decision.

Permeable paving is a good option for a lot of reasons. It can help prevent flooding, keeps harmful chemicals from polluting our water, and can divert water away from your home’s foundation. Plus, it can add a rustic aesthetic to your outdoor area, might prevent pests who breed in water, and may even qualify for tax rebates.

Quality pavers and correct installation handle temperature variations. Proper maintenance is crucial in severe climates to prevent issues like heaving.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.
