"Eric was prompt and on time and professional in every way! He answered all my questions and explained everything he was doing! He went out of his way to trouble shoot my storm door that didn't close properly and greatly improved the fit of the door in addition to taking the time to make sure the weather stripping was properly installed, and even installing extra weather stripping around the storm door as well. He also painted an exterior door inside and out, and secured second story vinyl siding that kept slipping loose. 10/10 will recommend Eric to anyone!"

This makes it a smart option if your current frame is damaged, uneven, or if you're working on a new build. Installation involves fitting the entire unit into the rough opening, shimming and leveling it, and then securing it. If you are replacing an existing prehung door, the process is even simpler, often just requiring you to swap the old unit for the new one and secure it with a few screws. Prehung doors typically cost only slightly more (around $20) than a door slab alone, making them an efficient choice.

If your home cannot accommodate a traditional garage door, there are plenty of other options to choose from. Consider installing a door made of glass, fiberglass, sheet metal, or faux wood. You can also choose a unique style like a folding, tilt-up, sliding, or carriage door. Consult a local garage door installer to discuss the options available for your garage shape and size.

You will need to cut or break a boomstick so it is wider than the door and long enough to anchor outside the door frame. Extend the broomstick horizontally under the doorknob, ensuring it's snug.
