"Justin Greenberg was recommended to me for work to be addressed at our 1830’s farmhouse property. Initally I needed to have a small barn/woodshed rebuilt including, siding, roofing, window installation, and painting. The project was completed successfully, within my budget and on time. Justin’s carpentry skills were used to refurbish a utility trailer. An old split rail fence was in need of repair and he secured the materials to bring the fence up to par with the existing fencing. Several of our mature trees needed a degree of topping/trimming. Justin proved to be skilled in this area of landscaping. Justin installed an electric wench/lift in the barn to raise our lawn/garden tractors for servicing. In short, Justin is my go-to handyman for small and large projects ."

"First Class Chimney workers were on time, polite, and very neat. Everything was covered by cloths so as not to allow any dirt in the living room. After the cleaning, they used a camera to show us the inside of the chimney, where the lining had broken and many pieces had fallen off altogether, allowing smoke to go through into the basement. The relining was done and we still had a problem, so the company immediately returned to do more sealing. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem, and it became clear that moving the damper from the bottom of the chimney to the top--usually not a problem, but in our house it was--was the cause. A new damper was ordered and installed, but did not fit quite correctly with our very old fireplace, so a second was ordered, installed, and works perfectly. The company at no time complained about the extra work and was completely dedicated to solving the problem at no extra charge. We were entirely satisfied with their solution and their attitude."

"This job actually went from a mini-split AC quote, to a entire central AC/Heat pump and new duct-work installation, so this review is of the later. Where to start? I can't speak highly enough about Ronnie and his crew. From the lightning fast responses to my questions/concerns, the friendliness of his crew, their attention to detail, and of course, the above-and-beyond effort in making the final system absolutely perfect. As someone who has dealt with many houses from MD to FL in the past 25 years, all with existing AC units in varying states of disrepair; I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when doing a completely new installation in a home that didn't have existing ductwork, electrical wiring and plumbing. Ronnie explained to me in detail why a mini-split system wasn't the best option given my home's layout. He then proceeded to explain to me the technical and practical reasons behind his choices for the location of a central A/C & condenser, the drain routing, new electrical wiring and fuse-panel considerations, and the ductwork routing/sizing. Given all this, I was confident that things would be installed correctly from the start and I wouldn't be dealing with nuisance issues in the future. Note: That aside from the appearance and location of the ceiling vents themselves, I wasn't terribly concerned about the aesthetic aspects of this job because the majority of work was being performed in a largely unused attic space. Needless to say, I was truly shocked by the final installation. As someone who has a degree in mechanical engineering, I was impressed by the uniformity of the step-down/sizing of the duct system to deliver air efficiently to the most distant parts of the house, specifically to the two areas of the home I deemed most important, and the orderliness of the hanging flexible duct hoses. So not only did he install an incredibly quiet, efficient system, he did so in a manner that still left me with about 85% of usable attic-space by strategically locating and routing all parts of the system. To sum things up, the effort that Eastern Shore Maint LLC put into this installation (which only took two-and-a-half business days) was herculean to say the least. They had to procure the services of an electrician to drastically alter the power supply in my home, work around material shortage issues, and still got the job done a day ahead of schedule. Finally - although Eastern Shore Maint LLC wasn't the cheapest bid I received for this project, I am glad I chose them because I couldn't be more happy with and confident in the final product. From start to finish, a completely professional job!"

"I have to admit, I was really disappointed with my overall experience. I was told that I could one time do a reimbursement. First off, why would you do that if you have already paid for service?!?! Then it took almost a week to get some one to address my situation. Now, I do realize that it does take time to get things rolling, but a week?? The gentleman that came to do the work was knowledgeable, but he didn't want to work with he Google representative to make sure that my NEST was/wasn't working properly. He was very short with the rep. and after several minutes of debating with him finally gave in and addressed both of our concerns. The other concern I had was, I was told that I would not have to pay anything this time, because of the delay, yet the rep. said I owed $65.00. He showed me the data he had and sure enough it said that I owed $65.00. Why, would a rep. from your own company tell me this and then turn around and not honor it?!?!? I sure hope that it doesn't take that long to get service the next time, that I need to have something done. What ever happened to customer service?? REALLY DISSSAPPOINTED!!!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Technically, yes, chinch bugs can fly. However you won’t usually see them in flight. Chinch bugs like to stick close to the ground and they usually move around by hopping or crawling (which is why they can be hard to see). Since they don’t get much chance at flying, they’re pretty bad at it and only fly for short distances—like to nearby yards.

Moles live underground and feed on insects. They dig and move through tunnels, usually in meadows or forests but sometimes in lawns and gardens. They are about 6 inches long with large claws, tiny eyes, and hidden ears.

Shrews do not dig their own tunnels but will use other animals’ tunnels, and are about 3 to 4 inches long. They look similar to mice and feed on insects.

Voles are similar in size to moles but have large eyes and small but visible ears. Rather than eating insects, voles are herbivores that prefer seeds, grasses, and plant roots.

When looking for natural roach repellent options, citrus, bay leaves, cucumber, garlic, and catnip may all help to keep cockroaches away. When an infestation requires a bigger intervention, boric acid, baking soda, diatomaceous earth (DE), and soap mixed with water are all considered natural and nontoxic roach treatments.

This varies based on the circumstance. Chemical-based pest control baits and poisons are usually the most potent, but they are unsafe to use around children and pets, so they won’t be a fit for every household.

Safer alternatives, such as boric acid and food-grade diatomaceous earth, can work as well, though they should still stay out of reach. Aside from that, the best thing any DIY-er can do is make their place uninviting by sealing off entry points, eliminating clutter, and maintaining a clean home.

Summer is the best time of year to treat chinch bugs. Check the instructions on the treatment method or consult a pest control pro for timing recommendations. You want to wait for chinch bugs to have a chance at coming out of hibernation and move around, but not too long that they start doing damage. Aim for around mid to late spring for most chinch treatments.
