"The contractor Daniel and his crew did an excellent job. They were very respectful and very communicative during the whole project. The work was performed with great skill and knowledge. The project was completed in a timely manner, and the job site was cleaned up very well. "Started off a day late but was informed in advance. Work moved steady, but paused waiting for the concrete supplier; again was informed so we could adjust the schedule. During design of the walks, we had full say and before each step in the prep and shaping, we had approvals. Before the pour, we made a design change without problems. All of this approval control made for an excellent set of walks. The driveway required edging the overgrown grass and dirt/water cleaning before the sealing."

"Joe and the crew from E Stanley did a great job widening our driveway. The job consisted of three parts. First, dig under the existing driveway and remove the roots that were growing underneath. Second, dig a couple of feet on both sides of our existing driveway to widen it out. Finally, pour asphalt on top of the driveway to replace the old one. Joe came in at the best price and finish the entire job in a single day.."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

There’s no legal requirement that states that you need rebar in a concrete driveway, but since the slab will be supporting heavy vehicle loads, it’s always a good idea to pay a bit more for rebar reinforcement. Your driveway will be much more likely to crack if you don’t reinforce it with rebar. Driveways that need to support commercial vehicles or provide parking for multiple vehicles at once should always include rebar reinforcement. If you’re pouring concrete over asphalt or pouring concrete over an existing slab, you may not have enough depth for rebar, meaning an increased risk of cracking.

It is generally not recommended to use dish soap in a pressure washer. Dishwashing liquid is formulated for cooler water, and the warmer water used in a pressure washer can create excessive suds, potentially damaging the machine's tubing and other components. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions for recommended detergents. If you find yourself in a pinch, you can try a highly diluted solution, such as one tablespoon of dish soap per 1.5 quarts of water, to avoid clogging the machine.

If your garage floor is heavily soiled or stained, then it’s a good idea to powerwash it with a concrete cleaner before sealing. This process will remove dirt and debris to help the new sealer bond to the concrete properly, and it will also improve the look of your sealed garage floor. After power washing your floor, make sure you let the concrete dry completely before applying sealant, usually for 24 to 48 hours.

Pressure washing your home or fence can make a major difference in the appearance and may even help extend the life of the structure you’re cleaning. Some of the most common areas that people pressure wash around their property include:

  • Driveway: $100–$250

  • Patio: $100–$200

  • Fence: $150–$300

  • Gutters: $50–$150

  • Roof: $450–$700

  • Siding: $150–$1,400

  • One-story house: $150–$750

  • Two-story house: $400–$1,400

  • Three-story house: $700–$1,800

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.
