"Regal Painting was a sub contractor to this job, Thankfully. I don’t want to get into the general contractor’s short comings for this review. Regal(Ernie Bradley), was tasked to paint the cabinets. They did a wonderful job on them, very clean spray job on the doors, and excellent brush work on the cabinets. Ernie had to fabricate wood to match where a microwave was installed. Then the general contractor asked him to install the vinyl flooring. He did a great job. Then the general had Ernie install the oven vent, paint the kitchen, the dining room, the family room ceilings and finally install the shoe moulding. My wife and I are so happy to have Regal selected to this project, it would be nowhere without them. We intend to be using Regal more in the future! Jim and Patty S."

Preparation is the most crucial and, really, the only secret to a lasting paint job on laminate cabinets. Paint will peel off laminate surfaces that aren't clean and grease-free. DIY refinishing will usually take a month or two, depending on your expediency.

First, start with any planned structural changes. That includes demolition and installing new gas lines, piping, or lighting. From there, complete any projects that require a lot of construction to install. Paint your walls while the space is mostly empty, install the cabinets before the countertops to ensure the former doesn’t get damaged, and save all cosmetic changes (like installing new light fixtures or hardware) for the very last moment.

With the proper maintenance and care, stained cabinets can last for 30 years. You’ll need to properly clean your stained cabinets with a gentle mixture of vinegar and warm water and repair minor cracks and scratches when required.
