They asked me to select kind of granite I want and told that the price was with installation. Then, the manager came to my house and measured the size of the cabinets and gave me the price. The price was $2900! I was surprised. After he left, I measured the kitchen myself, multiplied the area by the list price of the granite and calculated that the cost should be not more than $1600! I went to their shop next day and asked the manager why his calculations differed so much from mine. It looked like he did not think that I would measure everything myself and make calculations myself. Then he told that he calculated based on the area of a big sheet of granite, from which small pieces would be cut for my kitchen. I expected that this could not be true. Even if it would be so, pieces could be cut in such a way that total area would be much less than he claimed. I left this company and found another one, which installed countertop with the same quality of granite at similar price per square foot for $1434.50. Their calculations were honest - without any "extra square" for "large piece of granite".
