"Jerry was friendly, efficient, straight-talking, and didn't try to upsell us. We didn't need (or want) a lot of design input and had a strong sense for the types of tile and fixtures we wanted. Many of the other contractors who came to give quotes pushed design services or strongly encouraged us to purchase low-quality tile/fixtures through their suppliers, but this wasn't the case with S & J. Elias was fantastic--he helped confirm our tiles and fixtures were appropriate before we finalized our purchases, and we appreciated his attention to detail throughout the process."

I am a company of one and use subcontractors only when absolutely necessary. 99% of the work I take on is performed by me. Smithwright Home Improvement is licensed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission since 2004 under license# 89597. I've done mostly flat-fee work under contract with the home owner. Small projects, or handyman related work, bills out at $80/hour with a 3 hour minimum. Angie's List customers receive a 10% discount off labor charges that invoice over $500.00. From the time Scott came to my house to go over everything I wanted done, he was very upfront and very good at making alternative suggestions that would save me money and get me the same or better results. When I first hired Patchworx it was for a fairly large project that was going to take about 3 weeks. I was so happy with what I saw that I added on many, many things to the job. Patchworx ended up working on almost every area of my house, and I plan to have them back to do the few things they didn’t. All the people that work for Patchworx are very nice, very friendly and very helpful. As important as all that, they are 100% trustworthy. I was able to leave my house as I needed or wanted and didn’t have to worry about anything.
