"They provided an estimate very quickly and were able to offer us a date to begin within a week.  They painted our entire house (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and cabinets, dining room, 2-story living room, hallways, stairway, and office nook) in just two days.  They arrived on time (between 6:45 -7:00 am and worked the entire day for both days.  They were careful about moving furniture and other items out of the way, and then back again.  They covered everything and protected our hardwood floors and furniture.  They were polite, professional, and courteous, every single person.  They used the exact colors we asked for, provided 2-3 coats, as necessary, and even removed some very old wallpaper in one room that had been painted over by previous owners. Great workers, excellent professionals, and amazing job!

"I don't know when I have ever used a painting crew as talented as these men were. We live in a vintage 1911 house that had many issues on the walls. Lots of cracks and paint problems. They came and fixed every issue and now we live in a museum. Thank you Blue Sky Home Services for doing such a 5-star job!"

"He kept moving from job to job completely everything on my list but wallpaper border in one room.
I had used Kargman's previously for painting 5 or 6 rooms, and they did a great job on that.  Great prep work, and the job was done in a timely manner over a couple days.

"It was ok. I would consider it  a good job, not a great job. . I scheduled them a week apart so they cold do the drywall, then the painting. There were 2 brothers or cousins, and one of them spoke no english. There were times where I felt like they were trying to talk me into other projects, but I didn't want to sign up for that. There was some confusion on one of them, I had made an appointment for the drywall one and they didn't show up. They were supposed to there between 1:00 and 4:00 and it was supposed to be a 3 hour service, so when no one showed up at 4:05, I called the service provider, and some how they got it confused, and it wasn't scheduled or on their books. They offered to come that night as late as 6:30, but I have children that I needed to put to bed so I didn't want them to come that late at night. So they came on a Sunday because I had scheduled the painting on a Tuesday. I wanted to get it done within a time frame so I it would be done for the painting. The guys were nice enough, but they wanted to talk me into some other projects that I didn't want to do. The drywall was good, but I don't feel like they were any better painters than I was."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

To layer wallpaper over wallpaper, inspect your existing wallpaper for problem areas. Damaged wallpaper should not be covered. If it’s okay to proceed, prep by turning off the electricity and removing any outlet and switch covers. Dust your walls and lightly rinse them to prevent the existing paper from peeling. Apply primer, then apply your new wallpaper.

Ideally, you want to ask the wallpaper installers you’re considering for examples of past work, and references you can call. These will prove that the installer can handle your job, make your room look professional, and will also give you some insight into the kind of customer service you can expect. Before you start calling companies, you might want to narrow down your options by finding installers with mostly positive reviews online.

Yes, many installation and painting services include wall preparation, such as patching holes, smoothing surfaces, sanding, and priming. It is recommended to confirm the specific preparations included with your provider.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

No. If you overlap seams, the wallpaper will not come out flat. In addition to possibly throwing off your pattern match between rolls, overlapping seems necessary. If wallpaper is properly acclimated, and temperature and moisture conditions are optimal during installation, there is no reason to fear shrinkage as it dries.
