"I cannot say enough good things about the folks at Masters Chimney. Mark and Jeff were terrific to work with and worked with us to get our fireplace inspections and repairs done in a timely fashion to accommodate the sale of our house. Their team was hard-working and efficient and made sure the repairs went smoothly. I highly recommend the folks at Masters Chimney - they are great!"

"They called and asked to come earlier in the day since they had a cancellation. They arrived promptly and immediately covered the floors with tarps so no dirt or soot would be tracked through the house. While one of them vaccuumed cleaned the fireplace and chimney, the other went onto the roof to inspect the cover and outside of the chimney. When they finished, they showed me pictures of the outside of the chimney and also pointed out cracks in the fireplace floor. They explained that the fireplace insert would need to be replaced and gave me a rough estimate of the cost.

"Chimney.com did an excellent job installing our new gas fireplace. Brandon and Marlon communicated clearly with us regarding our specific fireplace needs, project updates, delivery time estimates, etc. Russ did a meticulous job with installation and ensured that he completed the job and that everything was working properly before leaving our house. Tiffany was super helpful during the installation process and with additional follow-up later on. I recommend chimney.com to anyone who has fire place projects."

"Chip was punctual, professional and knowledgeable. He inspected, cleaned and serviced two gas fireplaces in my home. Chip was also responsive when I had a follow up question after the service. I will use the company again and recommend them to others."

"Tim was amazing . He was personable and very thorough in his inspection. Other companies did not even get on the roof! My fireplace needed extensive repairs and Tim gave me options to get it to operable state. Will recommend to my neighbors."

Fireplace Cleaners questions, answered by experts

A fireplace can take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks to remodel, depending on the complexity of the project. For example, for a simple paint job, you’ll spend very little time touching up your fireplace, while larger remodels that involve replacing or repairing a fireplace can take up to 4 weeks.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

The downsides of brick staining include a complex process and lengthy application. Also, if your brick is damaged or already contains a non-porous sealant or paint, staining won’t be an option as it won’t be able to absorb properly.

Yes, it is essential to prime or seal a brick fireplace before painting. Brick is a porous and highly absorbent material, so without a primer, paint can seep into the surface, resulting in uneven coverage and allowing the natural brick color to show through. To avoid this, apply one or two coats of a masonry primer. The primer will seal the brick and provide a smooth, uniform layer for the paint to adhere to. Ensure the primer is completely dry before applying the topcoat of paint.

Knowing who to hire to install your fireplace is important when it comes to having a safe place to burn a fire in your home. The best person to contact for installing fireplaces is a mason or general contractor who has a National Fireplace Institute (NFI) specialist certification. If you’re installing wood paneling, then it’s a good idea to also find a pro who is Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT)-certified.

Both of these certifications show that your pro is well-equipped to install fireplaces and inspect your home for the utmost safety.
