"I hired Superior earthworks on a recommendation from a previous customer that had concrete work done. He was recommended for his timely work and work ethic, I had a driveway that needed to be completely resurfaced and Bobby came in with some ideas that added a beachy effect, my driveway now looks like it’s part of the beach! I absolutely love it, thank you so much!"

"They called me to schedule quickly but when they came out they informed me that the Angie's Offer did not include building materials, Offer did not clearly state these items as not valid under the offer or excluded."

"Mark and his crew did an amazing job. Some highlights: 1) Mark's proposal was the most reasonable of the three we received. 2) Mark provided some design options and suggested we go to the local stone store to be sure we got what we wanted. We appreciated his suggestions as well as his respect for our choices. 3) Mark's crew was always courteous and thorough. They also cleaned up each day and happily hosed down our neighbor's driveway per his request. 4) A few times throughout the process we had new ideas to which Mark provided his advice and updated cost estimates. For an additional $850 we were able to add more value to the final product. All told, Mark and his team built four retaining walls, installed a patio under our deck, installed a landing pad outside our pool (with the extra pavers from the deck project), installed a paver walkway between our under-deck patio and the pool, regraded the yard, seeded and strawed the yard, and replanted some perennials that were displaced in the regrading. 5) Mark always kept us updated on progress - particularly important in this rainy spring."

"We had work done on the stone patio around our pool. He also did drainage work around an area of our house that often floods. It has really made an incredible difference! Especially with all the rain we have had this year! I am so grateful to Sal and his workers! I would highly recommend their company!"

"Dave came out to assess the project on the day and time he told me. He seemed knowledgable about concrete demolition. When he asked to do a test for how the concrete would come out, I knew that he was my kind of contractor! Because he had information about the job from his test, he could give us a fair price! As it turns out this test he did was a strong predictor for how he works. He did all the work himself with his machines. He checked in with us about work hours and days. Very polite and respectful person. Right before he came to do the job, a small tornado came through our area and knocked down several larger trees and large branches. I strained my back removing some of the branches and approached Dave about helping me out. He jumped right in the next day with his own chainsaw and other machinery and downed and cleared two large trees and other branches! When he was done with pool patio demolition and tree removal, he cleaned up and seeded disturbed lawn areas. Dave is easy to talk to and has ideas and knowledge he will share with you. In short, he is great! He has my respect. We hope to have him working on future projects on our property."

"Repairmen came twice. The first plumber was only able to clear the face bowl but did diagnosis the overall problem. A second plumber tried to repair the problem without having to cut into the ceiling below the bathroom. No luck after four hours of hard work. This service person apologized and would not charge for this service as problem still existed and I had paid the first plumber. Work will be completed after the holiday. I did receive an estimate for the work be completed."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

Land survey reports have a boatload of information relevant to several scenarios. Here are the types of information contained with a survey, though it depends on your chosen type of land survey. Exact boundaries and dimensions of a given property General topography, including both natural and artificial landmarks Location of utility fixtures, like water mains Confirmation of any easements or encroachments on a piece of property Assessment of land elevation to buy flood insurance Updated information to add to a pre-existing property map

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.
