"I would definitely recommend Wyatt Professional Flooring to everyone. I had a carpet that required re-stretching. Mike and his son came and did a great job. They were punctual, professional and personable. They explained the work during the project. You could tell they were very experienced. Also, cleaned up after the job was completed."

"We chose Carpet Concepts because they were listed as a local Mohawk vendor. We knew we wanted to replace our old carpet with eco-friendly Smartstrand carpet, but had heard horror stories about installation nightmares through big box stores. Dave was friendly and communicative when we visited the store-- free carpet samples arrived within the week, and Dave was quick to provide an in-home estimate without any high-pressure sales tactics. The price seemed competitive and the customer service was excellent, so we decided to move forward with Carpet Concepts-- and I'm glad we did. The two-man installation crew was punctual, polite, and efficient, and the carpet looks great. A good experience from start to finish... we're very pleased. "

"I was delighted when Tom showed up on time for the scheduled appointment. He answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. He took all the measurements and wrote me up an estimate. His price was far more competitive than the other estimates I received. He worked with me on different install dates due to my hectic work schedule and got me set within 10 days of signing.

Joe showed up on time and with plenty of tools. He immediately started prepping the area. He was very cautious and respectful in moving my appliances, side cabinets, pantry door, and railing. He used those moving discs to scoot out the stove but he also put long thin slices of wood down on my old floor so as not to scratch the floor. We had to put the stove in the living room and he brought a huge blanket to lay underneath so nothing wouldn't happen to my carpet. I didn't care a fig about my old decrepit carpet but he did. He noticed a small problem with a support brace under two of my boards. He found a solution and promptly fixed it. He did a fantastic job on the install and cleaned up the area very well. He's very respectful, professional, and experienced.

My job went smoothly from start to finish. I recommend Dependable carpet highly for your next job. Thank you Mr. Munson and Joe for my beautiful floors. You guys are awesome and wish you many more years of success."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can revive carpet that’s flattened using household items like an ice cube and stiff brush, a damp cloth and an iron, baking soda and vinegar, and shaving cream. If you want to go all-out, visit a local home improvement store and buy a carpet rake, too. Depending on the state of your carpet, you may need to use more than one of these methods to see results. Keep in mind that you might need to repeat a reviving method more than once.

The best solvent for removing carpet glue depends on its chemical composition. Most carpet glue reacts well to a solvent made from orange oil. Use mineral spirits to remove tar-based glue, which has a darker, brownish tint. Methylene chloride paint stripper and lacquer thinner should also work, but beware of the nasty and dangerous fumes.

Professional carpet repair services offer cost-effective solutions for damage such as burns, stains, and tears. Professionals utilize advanced tools and techniques, ensuring quality restoration that extends the carpet's life and preserves its appearance.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.
