They sanded and put down 2 coats of poly,( their standard procedure) but it's not very glossy. I was concerned after the first coat (Monday the 10th) as the surface looked dull and flat. I called and I was told not to worry. Today, I called after the work was completed, where I was told that they would be happy to add additional coats of poly, for an added fee. I shouldn't have to pay more money . . . I am not in the floor refinishing business, and I don't know if it will take 2 coats or 12 coats of poly to achieve a certain level of finish. I expect the estimator to know this information, and communicate it to me. If it requires more than they typically do, I need to be made aware of this!! If it requires more than the standard, it needs to be in the contract. Telling me afterwards is not professional. The contract says 2 costs - OK. So, they stuck to the contract, but it isn't what they told me they would do! Nor is it what I told the estimator I wanted. If you're not concerned about matching to existing floors in the home, then AG Floors is just fine. But if you want to match something existing in the home.....?? Maybe not. Under Professionalism, I also had to ding them due to the helper vacuuming up dust, I saw him open the front door and empty the vacuum hose contents onto my front porch! Really?? You're dumping the dirt on the front porch, where you're walking in and out?? When I asked him what he was doing, he just smile since he didn't understand my English. More poor communications!! While estimating it would take 6 dump truck loads to remove the stumps, it only took 2! Mainly because he took the time to clean most of the dirt from them, situated the stumps so I could usually make a 2nd cut on the stump to keep them as small as possible, & loaded as the truck driver requested. A 3 day job actually ended in a day & half as far as the tree & stump removal but he insisted that while he was there that the site could be cleaned up better & make it easier on me by allowing him do some grading & spreading the brush out. Greg met me on site a few weeks earlier, listened to what I wanted to accomplish, offered welcomed suggestions & put some proposals together with options for me to choose to satisfy my needs/wants. He took a sincere interest in my project & knowing my end goal is to construct a new home, offered other contractors who may be able to assist me in my efforts. I since have moved and needed to get my new house painted. I contacted CertaPro in Bowie, and they told me that they do not service my area. They gave me contact information for the franchise that would service my area. I set up an appoint on 10/04/2012 to have the owner come to the house to bid on the job. We agreed on a contract, thought it was a little high, we had used CertaPro in the past and were impressed. The original contract we agreed on was for $10,420. The work started the very next day. We were not here during the beginning process because we were still packing from our old home. We dropped in from time to time and thought that it was going a little slow. We were told that it would be complete for us to move in on 10/22/2012. When the day arrived for move in, they were not even close to being complete. Not one room was complete. We even told them that if they could just finish the upstairs bedroom, we could live there while they completed the job. We ended up having to stay in a hotel because they had not completed the job. We moved the furniture into the house because we did not want to store it. We came over everyday and tried to get the process going. We soon ran out of money to stay in the hotel and had to move in. We moved into the unfinished bedroom upstairs. We had to put in cloths under the door to protect us from the dirt and dust generated by the painters. The crew that worked on the house was totally unprofessional. We found bottles in the yard and tossed toilet paper rolls all over the bathroom floor. The place was totally a disaster, not livable at all. We caught the workers squirting water on our clothing boxes in the garage. I caught them trying to paint the walls without cleaning off the dirt and dust in the areas to be painted. We couldn't communicate with the crew because of the language barrier. On Nov 2nd, the owner came in with a new contract stating that the price had changed due to all the holes in the wall from the electrician. I told him that we did not discuss any costs for this service and that it would be illegal to alter the contract without both parties agreeing. He stormed out and we never spoke to him again. We found out that the first painter had run out of money and couldn't pay the workers and the house was not even half finished. The painter was by himself and the walls were not complete. We contacted the corporate office numerous times(over 20) and then on 11/12/2012 Greg Chris showed up. The second owner that we never knew about (Greg) showed up the next day to finish the job. He was upset that we contacted the corporate office and said we got him in trouble. Approximately a week later he showed up with another crew and told the guys what they were supposed to do. The job resumed with the new painters confused as to what had been done and what needed to be done. We incurred more damages and on Thanksgiving Eve they left the house without finishing. They workers left the place a mess. We asked them when they were coming back, and the response was \"we don't know.\" After several weeks of no communication with them I hired people to clean and I had to start cleaning up the house and now I am in the legal matters with this company. I asked the head painter, Frank what he was going to do about the couch that his crew damaged and he said, \"the owners told me to not say anything and to keep my mouth shut.\" He had agreed to pay for the couch because he knew his guys were responsible for damaging it but the owners told him to keep his mouth shut. These two seperate paint crews left my house in such a mess that one could only believe that it was purposely done but why? To date I still have only one door to my coat closet in my foyer as well as one double door closet with one door missing and the other cut incorrectly. We have authorized them on two occasions to bring the door back but to date still no doors. There are light switch covers, registers, trim around washer and dryer missing and a smoke detector was damaged by the first paint crew and Ernesto was the lead. We went to the police department on two occasions to try to force them to bring back our doors and the other things missing from the house only to be told there was nothing they could do, that it was civil matter. We have given this company several chances to rectify the damage done but all we get in the mail are bills for things that were not done and price changes. Areas that they did paint are peeling and caulking is falling from the ceiling. I have hundreds of pictures, witnesses and a lawyer to justify our claim. Also, have estimates to repair damages done to the home. Per their lawyer's request I compiled a list of the estimates to complete the repairs for the damages done to my home and to date have not heard from their lawyer regarding the letter listing the cost to make the repairs. We lived a nightmare and are still living the nightmare everyday we look at our home. We spoke with a lawyer in reference to get them to communicate because they would not communicate with us, causing us additional expenses in the amount of $1200 for the lawyer to communicate with them. I would not recommend this company at all. The worst thing that we could not believe happened and it proved, that these were a bunch of illegals who were not qualified carpenters, and they attempted to install a tray ceiling in the master bedroom and covered up the heating and a/c vent. We have been heating/cooling a dead space in the ceiling for more than six months. If they did not know how to extend the vent why didn't they ask the owners? We have received an estimate that it will cost over $1000 to fix that vent. We have incurred unneccesary expenses of over $15000. To add salt to the wounds we have endured, they got a Sherwin Williams representative, Brian, to give them an estimate as to how much it would cost to complete the job and I contacted Sherwin Williams district manager who states that they are not qualified to perform that type of work, therefore, they falsified a document stating Sherwin Williams quoted that price. The contract stated no monies until the job was completed and a final walk thru was done but on 10/29/2012 Mr. Dower begged for money. I quoted him his contract but he said he needed money to complete the job because his bills were piling up and whatever we could give him would help to get the job done. We ended up giving him $5000 hoping this would enable them to complete the job but still did not motivate them to get the job done. He took our money and we got worse service. We also found out from Ernesto that he was working a part time job, he came to our house in the morning and had to leave by 4 to get to his part time job. They only worked 4-6 hours. They never complied to anything in the contract. I could go on and on but all the evidence I have supports our claim of this nightmare we've lived. Even if we don't recover monetarily from this nightmare lived we do not want others mainly senior citizens like us to encounter this type of situation. We are serious and there are no lies in our horror story as we stated we have evidence to support what we stated. Please be aware of this company! I don't think we will ever get over what we've experienced with this CertaPro Painters of Annapolis or their headquarters out of Oaks, PA, district manager Bill Mcdevitt who promised he would come out and look at the job in November but never showed and we never heard from him. We contacted him regarding his failure to show and he said he was busy flying all over and we asked him when he could come and he said wouldn't be able to. He asked me to send him pictures so we mailed him pictures and never received a response and haven't heard from him."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/md/annapolis/certapro-painters%C2%AE-of-annapolis-reviews-272342.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Liller General Contractor","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MD","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Jim P."},"reviewBody":"Came on the day agreed upon removed old siding, wrapped structure, did needed framing, hauled away debris, completed new siding. they did their work with professionalism. After looking over the vast amount of junk I had, Mark presented me with a quote of $275.00 I felt this was completely reasonable considering the amount of junk, and the fact that due to the previous nights rain, it was too muddy to get to the back of my home, which meant having to haul everything out a ways to get to his truck. He backed his truck down and as far as possible and proceeded to demo all the furniture-quite quickly! He then loaded all the bags and miscellaneous odds and ends and was done in about 45 minutes. I am in the process of clearing out a three floor townhouse in preparation for a move, and definitely plan on using Mark again. As a side note, I had asked Mark to give me a quote for moving, he declined as he did not want to track mud through my home, instead offering to come back out next week. I was impressed that he'd rather take time out of another day and drive back to my home, rather than potentially track mud through the house. The technician called me early to say he was running behind and would be there by 11 (original window was 9:30-10:30) however he was there at 10:15. He supposedly serviced the A/C unit, told me it was working fine but since it was old I should start considering replacing it. (Unit is 17 yrs old). But there was no pressure or anything to purchase from them so I was satisfied until 6 weeks later when the A/c went out. I had ot go through my home warranty company to avoid paying for the repairs - when the tech came out he told me my motor burned out because the A/C unit had not been serviced, then he took me up in the attic with him to show me. Do not recommend unless you want to pay top dollar for bottom barrel install. We moved into a home with a Shaw's 2016 heat pump install and will be spending thousands to address the poor quality of the air handler install. Code violations, no permits pulled, didn't follow manufacturers...
When I first met with the estimator (Yasmin Cartagena) I showed her the existing hardwood floors in the dining room and living rooms, which is very shiny & glossy. I told her I wanted the kitchen floors to look just as glossy - they don't! ( Yes, I know that the living/dining room floors...

We are a family owned company that is interested in making your visions a reality, no job is to big or to small. Things we offer: -Excavation, grading, trenching, etc. -Demolition, houses, barns, concrete, etc . -Landscaping, hardscaping, tree work, retaining walls etc. -Junk removal, Cars, house clean outs, property cleanups, etc.
"Overall they over promised and under delivered. The job was to grade my front yard and add a concrete step. The absolute minimal grading was completed, and the concrete was poured in the rain making the finish rough and dirty and the concrete leaked into the driveway. Had to contact multiple times to get the tent removed and concrete cleaned up. I do appreciate the grass that was put down. Definitely a little disappointed that the minimum was done. Wish I had only paid half up front so they would have come back quicker to complete the job."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Erik from First State Ponds, and I can't recommend him enough. Erik traveled all the way from Delaware to Maryland to service my pond, which was having persistent issues with murky water. Before connecting with Erik, I had already been advised by another company to purchase a specific filter and pump. Thankfully, I found First State Ponds just in time. Erik took the time to explain that while the recommended filter might clear my water, it would require constant maintenance. He suggested a different filter and a stronger pump, but he was also willing to install the one I had already purchased if I preferred. After some consideration, I decided to take his advice and returned the original filter to have him install his recommended system. After struggling with murky water all summer, l admit, I was a bit skeptical. I wasn't sure that anything would truly work. But Erik's recommendation exceeded even his own predictions. Within just two days, the water was crystal clear! I didn't really think that was possible. There were a few challenges during installation and I admit this was 100% due to a few things I had set up prior to meeting Erik. But he handled them seamlessly, troubleshooting as needed. For the issues that couldn't be addressed that day, Erik provided me with helpful suggestions on how to finish the job myself. While I initially found the price a little high, after seeing the fantastic results, answering my many questions (including a few the following day), and delivering on everything he promised, I can confidently say he earned every cent. If you're looking for quality service, prompt responses, and impressive results, I highly recommend First State Ponds. Erik and his team are truly top-notch."

FAQs for dirt hauling projects in Centreville, MD
The kinds of items or materials accepted will vary by hauling company. Some companies will not handle hazardous waste, but hiring ones that do will cost from $5 to $100 or more, depending on what type and quantity of material.
Most companies will haul items such as:
Construction and remodeling waste: $100–$600
Appliances: $50–$600
Furniture: $50–$400
Electronics: $60–$200
Yard waste: $70–$500
Unfortunately, some plumbing scenarios, like a broken sewer pipe repair, will require excavation to complete the job. Plumbing excavation costs range from $30 to $70per cubic foot. However, if you need additional trenching, expect to pay an extra $4 to $12per linear foot. Keep in mind that these costs are on top of the plumbing repair costs, and they don’t account for labor costs. Consult your excavation specialist to determine an accurate estimate for your job.
The cost to hire a professional junk hauling service ranges from $60 to $600, averaging about $270. Your final price is determined by the type of junk, amount of junk, the distance to the dumpsite, and the equipment required to move and haul your items or materials. Keep in mind that construction junk removal is more expensive than hauling household items, so expect to pay $800 for removing large piles of debris.
The average cost for pool excavation is $2,500. This cost can range from $450 to $4,500, depending on the pool shape and size, time of year, and any need to move buried utilities.
When excavating for your pool, you might have to move existing utilities. You can expect to pay an additional $15 to $25per linear foot to move gas lines. To move a septic system, it’ll cost an additional $2,000 to $20,000. A pool that is 10 feet by 12 feet averages $450 to excavate, and a 20-foot-by-40-foot pool averages $3,020.
The cost for residential excavation is $3,200 on average, ranging between $50 and $200per cubic yard. Total costs could range from $500 to $15,000, depending on the project type, yard size, and soil type.
When a project needs an excavator, the contractor will subcontract one as part of the larger project. If you hire an excavation specialist, you can expect to pay between $40 and $180per hour. When excavating, if you have soil with excessive rocks or clay deposits, expect an additional cost of $200 to $1,200.
