"Mr. Thomas, Dwight and crew performed the level 2 chimney inspection (only/no sweep requested) and repaired the brick/masonry of the chimney, including repacing the flue liner and repair of the chimney box. They provided literature, kept me highly informed of status, arrival, appointments, and work progress. They also completed a beautiful job on my neighbor's chimney rebuild/replace. The work looks really great and it is apparent that Mr. Thomas, Dwight, and the masonry crew take pride in their workmanship and quality. The job was completed within 2 days and so far, everything is looks fantastic. Waiting for a cool day to crank up the fireplace. They also provided a professional lamination card and pen for reminders of next year's chimney sweep. I only slightly hit the value as I would have loved the inspection price to be part of the repair and the receipt, but overall, great experience, great A+ rating on BBB and both licensed and bonded. "Chimney.com did a great job in chimney relining. The work was inspected and approved by WSSC today. Their staff are very courteous, honest, professional, and responsible. Their young technician Dave is efficient, hard working, knowledgeble. I give this company and their staff a five star!"

"Tim was timely, thorough, and honest about the state of my chimney and work that needed to be done. He was very professional, but down to earth and easy to work with. I have worked with him in the past, and know that he is meticulous with his inspection and trust his professional guidance with the work that needs to be done. I highly recommend Top Shelf Chimney. I will be using them again for the repairs and for future inspections."

"Excellent customer service. The owner of the company responded promptly to my inquiry. Ron provided detailed information about the problem with my chimney and how the problems could be addressed quickly. I had prompt service on the same day. Ron and Landon came out and worked as a team to fix the chimney including putting in a new liner and reinforcing the flashing around the chimney. Plus installed two new chimney caps. Very professional! I highly recommend."

Chimney Liner Installation FAQs, answered by experts

The cost to repair a swimming pool varies widely, with an average cost around $700. The total expense can range from as little as $10 for simple DIY fixes to over $20,000 for extensive overhauls. Key factors influencing the cost include the type of pool (in-ground vs. above-ground), its size, and the specific repairs needed. For above-ground pools, repairs typically cost between $100 and $700. For in-ground pools, costs are higher, generally ranging from $350 to $2,700. Common repairs include patching liners, fixing plumbing or electrical lines, and repairing equipment like pumps and filters. More complex issues, such as fixing a cracked beam, can cost $6,000 or more, while major projects like resurfacing a concrete pool can cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

In-ground pools lose water naturally due to wind, heat, and humidity. They also lose water from the kiddos' cannonball competitions. But be mindful of the water level. If it drops too low and the pump draws in air instead of water, it will likely be damaged and require repair or replacement.

If you’re wondering how to find a leak in an aboveground pool, the process is the same as it is for an in-ground pool. Note that the vinyl liner in aboveground pools is fairly thin, so sharp objects easily puncture it. Additionally, the liner can wear down after constant exposure to pool chemicals, especially when chlorine levels are higher than they should be. For these reasons, small holes in the vinyl liner often cause leaks, but you can easily detect them with the dye test.

Reasons include repairing damage, upgrading aesthetics, adding safety features, or including modern technology for improved pool functionality.

It’s best to avoid having wrinkles in a new pool liner. Since pool liners are very thin, it’s easy to have slight wrinkles in the liner upon initial installation. This might negatively affect your pool’s visual appearance and lead to tearing and holes in some cases. You’ll want to ensure proper measurements and accurate alignment during the installation process to prevent unsightly wrinkles from appearing.
