"RENTERS BEWARE! With great concern for our family’s health & safety given the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic, we didn’t feel safe to vacation on MV this summer after booking in advance like we have done for more than 30 years on MV. I reached out to Wendy Tillman of Sandpiper Rentals to ask for a refund of our $5000 rental deposit and I was stunned when she informed me that Sandpiper would keep a significant portion of my deposit. She pointed me to a copy & paste section of legalese from their policy on refunds. While I understand how contracts and policies work, this type of cold position in the context of a global pandemic is tone deaf to compassion and the genuine fears people have about protecting their families. I wanted you all to be aware of how Sandpiper is handling their rentals during this time. Really quite surprising given the “we are here for you” customer-centric stand many other companies and businesses have taken during this time."
