He has a small crew and excellent subs so he's not super fast. But Mavridis is excellent. One example: The shower needed a new fan, vented through the attic roof. The attic boards were all cut (before my time) in half when insulation was installed. The attic floor was unstable and unsafe. George was very busy but he had his team replace the boards with plywood panels...for 20% less than I expected. Why? Because he wanted to make sure I would be happy when the job was done. I could give 4-5 other examples but you get the point. If you hire George, you'll be pleased."

The plumber showed up in 30 minutes and installed a new valve that solved the problem. The project was to remove a 60 year old ceramic floor, repair the wood subfloor, install cement board, level the floor, install new tile, replace all old plumbing, and install a new vanity. "These guys were fantastic. We had replaced our kitchen tile without using Angi’s two years ago. They did a terrible job, not lining the tiles properly, not grouting properly, and they didn’t remove the issues at the base of the tiles, so overtime our tiles were cracking. The contractor had promised us he’d come back to finish the grouting when he left in Friday, but asked for payment. New homeowner mistake, I paid him. He never responded to my messages after that. ALV came in the same day I posted on Angi’s, gave a reasonable quote, and then bought the tiles we were looking at the next day. 3 days later, the project is complete, the grout finished, everything looks fantastic. 10/10 would use these guys again."

Their sub-contractors were also great and worked at the same high standards as the Coen Brothers. Although we faced some communication issues at the outset, we eventually worked through them, and it significantly improved throughout the project. They paid attention to detail; when my project manager saw me stripping the trim for reuse, they recommended buying new trim and a lumber yard to get it. And it makes a big difference having new trim with clean, sharp lines. Their tile work took longer than expected, but the miter cuts the trim cuts, and the finish is excellent.
