Jim and the crew at Redman Construction Inc are all top shelf. They did an excellent job on a bathroom remodel. They were neat, courteous, and efficient as well as fair and reasonable with pricing. To the penny on their estimate. Great job from start to finish.

My husband and I received a quote from Redman Construction, for a side door installation and outer house trim replacement, which we agreed upon. When the work was completed, we were sent a bill that was 61% above the quote cost. We were never approached or contacted by Redman that the man hours or cost of supplies were being increased. We were frankly shocked when we received the bill. We were quoted a cost of $7,975.00 and we were billed $13,208.07. This, in my opinion was a deception in the cost quote and price gouging in the final billing statement. My husband and I will never use this company again. The final work was mediocre. The door replaced, is difficult to lock and squeaks when closing. I feel cheated.
Response from Redman Construction Inc.
"We are sorry you were not happy with the project results. The proposal for the work included a fixed cost to supply/install the exterior door and it had an estimated cost for replacing rotted exterior trim and clearly said the repairs would be done for the cost of materials plus labor. There were more repairs made at your request such as deck posts and more decking. we are. We understand the final amount was more than the estimate but the document you signed to was clear about the cost being estimated."

We hired Redman to completely gut our kitchen and dining room and make them one room. All new cabinets, island, windows, floors etc. it was such a smooth process and the finished product looked like it came off a magazine cover. We were so pleased that we hired them again to remove our entire second floor and turn our cape style house into a garrison style. The transformation was incredible. We added a second floor laundry, bathroom, Master bath, guest room/office and attic. I would not only recommend them to anyone needing work I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Communication with the owners was easy and timely, but very disappointed in the attention to detail and overall oversight of the job on Redman's part with their sub-contractors. We constantly had to directly let the outside workers know of our plans even though we had already discussed items with Redman. We had to ask them to clean up after themselves (one contractor said he never owned a tarp before) and have the electrician come back numerous times to fix things. Overall timeline was met and we are happy with overall design and functionality, but had to aggressively press at the end before our move in date. Items that we were disappointed in - nails showing through new cabinetry (purchased separately), holes still showing in the plastered ceiling and recessed lighting holes cut too big, so that the lights are loose. Tile Contractor was the best by far.

Joe Redman, Jim Runkles and their crew led by Chris were professional, highly skilled, friendly and courteous. We were presented a scope of work, timelines and kept informed of the project each step of the way. The kitchen design by Scott, the modifications by Joe and execution by the crew exceeded our expectations. The work was done well and completed within the projected timeframe! Redman Construction used excellent subs. The plumber, Charlie Holmes, moved pipes, effectively opening up additional usable space. The electrician, Kevin Comer, updated our electrical requirements and developed plan that met out lighting needs, including very useful cabinet lighting. Chris McCann, the foreman, was talented, responsive, and resourceful. He, Jimmy and the crew made numerous adjustments, accommodated on-the-job alterations, and made many useful suggestions. The attention to detail was excellent. Finally, Jimmy addressed the punch list items and accommodated all end of project needs. I would be happy to use Redman Construction again, and recommend them to all my friends!

Redman Construction is wonderful. We had some work done by them last summer and fall and it all went so well, that we had no other contractor in mind. The quality of work (on our 1774 home!) is excellent, the subcontractors arrive on time, are polite, professional and extremely neat, cleaning up at the end of every day. My husband is very particular, understanding a lot about our old home and what it needs, and he is always satisfied with the details, methods and materials that Joe and Jim use. They are a wonder to work with! We had roofing, carpentry and plastering subs, and all were topnotch. You may wait for them a bit longer than some others, but I will tell you that it is WELL worth the wait. We know that our house is solid and secure from the elements and the work done last year proved to be airtight through the winter. I should mention that communication is their easy and prompt. - both phone and email.

I could not have been happier with the services that I received.  Jimmy worked with me so that the work required could be completed and would remain within my budget.  Jimmy and his team were courteous, professional and did a fantastic job.  I had been without walls for months due to a prior contractor bailing on me.  After hiring Redman/Jimmy, the work was completed within a few weeks and ahead of schedule.  They did a great job and I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Joe and his team of professionals did a great job on our bathroom. It took a little longer than we had hoped or assumed it would due to scheduling conflicts and miscommunication between him and some of his subcontractors, but all in all they did a very nice job. If you have to have extensive tile work done, his tile guy was amazing. You could tell he took great care in the tiny details and made sure everything was perfect and straight and set just right. A truly beautiful outcome with our glass mosaic and other tile work in the bathroom. Feels like luxury. I would recommend Redman Construction and would call them for future work. They are priced right, as well.

Very pleased, very professional, high quality work! I can't say enough good things about Redman Const. My basement was bare concrete walls and they built an office & playroom (with bathroom) and put central air in the 1st floor.
Here are my takeaways from the experience:
- Their work was high quality
- I felt as though I was kept informed for every step of the project (and I am a bit of a micromanager lol)
- I was given the names and phone numbers of  workmen who were going to show up at my house.
- Jim (and all of his workmen) returned my texts promptly, EVEN on Sundays!!!!!!!!!
- When I met with the electrician (Kevin) he listened to all my concerns and exceeded my expectations.
- Every workman that showed up was Polite, Professional, Punctual and Cleaned up after themselves.
- Work was done when I was told it would be done.
- On the two occasions where workmen were not able to come, I was contacted the night before and told when the workmen would return.
I would not hesitate to recommend and rehire Redman Construction in the future.

It was great from start to finish.  Every subcontractor was polite and punctual.  The work was done in the soundest and highest quality manner possible.  You might experience a wait to have Redman Construction do your job, but it is WELL worth it.  It was a completely positive experience and without any of the disturbance and/or surprises you often hear about.  We are definitely getting on Redman's roster for PHASE 2 and probably 3 of our home repairs.  Th company is based right down the street from us and it feels GREAT to work with someone so local.

Jim and Joe came to do the estimate. Nice guys; said it would be a three-day job. That surprised me that it would take three days to demo a wall, frame it and patch the floor, but they talked about all the prep and detail work required.
Their sons and another guy did the actual work. Similarly good guys. They banged out the demo in half a day, and were even able to get the electrician over on Day 1 to do his thing. They nearly finished the reframing that day, too.
There was an issue when they said they didn't know they were supposed to patch the floor, and that it would cost more. They had thought the replacement hardwood pieces were only for the threshold. I was a bit incredulous. Why would anyone want a 7-foot wide hole above the subfloor in their kitchen? Obviously the floor required needed to be patched. Plus, they had planned and charged for three days work. They were nearly done after one day.
I talked it through with Jim, and we agreed it was a misunderstanding of some kind. The guys did finish the job, including the floor patch, at no additional cost.
However, the floor patch was not done well. Five months later, and there are some quarter-inch gaps between flooring pieces. And the threshold-long piece of maple they put down isn't entirely flush to the floor on one end (sticks up slightly). Because the flooring gaps are in a spot that cannot be covered up with a plant or something, it will need to get fixed sooner or later.

Some if it was good and some of it was bad. the guy who came out to do the framing and door installation was AWESOME..he was friendly and professional. He cleaned up after himself and left NO mess. The men who came to do the ceiling and wall plastering were rude and unprofessional. They did not clean up after themselves, left trash, and told us as they were leaving that a quick vacuum would clean up their mess. I had to listen to one of the workers drop F bombs the whole time he was here. I also found out that they told the painter that they referred to us that I "played games with them". The owners were rude, did not show up when expected, and did not send a final invoice..they just left a message on voicemail that they expected final payment. When they did not receive the payment a couple of days after the voicemail, they left another voicemail that they were in the area and would just come by to get it. I would never recommend this company.

It went very well they were ver professional and did a great job of cleaning up.  A few month later they returned to do an adjustment on the hinge promptly and at no charge.  I have since hired them for another project (leak around second floor window) once again price was fair and the work was very professional.   I will use them again

This was a 3 month general upgrade to a ranch style house built in 1960. Main house is 3 bedroom 1 bathroom 38'x24' with a 1 room addition 20'x14' added on about 1970. I had the roof replaced and electrical system upgraded from 100 amp to 200 amp about 5 years ago so they did not need anything done at this time. Just a little history.

As for this project a lot of things were done for upgrading.

Removed all old wooden siding and replaced with vinyl cedar impression siding. It costs about 25% more than regular vinyl siding but is well worth it if you can fit it into your budget.

Replaced 17 old wooden windows with Harvey vinyl double hung windows.

Replaced 2 old wooden exterior doors with therma true fiberglass doors and 2 new Harvey aluminum storm doors.

Replaced basement exterior door with new insulated steel door.

Replaced metal slider door off kitchen with new Harvey vinyl slider door.

Replaced a total of 10  inside doors  to bedrooms and closets.

Replaced countertop, sink, and faucet in kitchen.

Did a total demolition of bathroom, new walls, new ceiling and new tile floor. Installed new water saving toilet, replaced

old bathtub with new 3 piece walk in fiberglass shower. Installed new vanity cabinet with sink and new medicine cabinet.

Installed new vanity light, new ceiling light with vent to outside.

Demolished old 12x10 rotted out wooden deck off  kitchen and built new 12x10 3 season room (veranda pvc) with interchangeable screens for summer and glass panels for winter.

Replaced old wrought iron railings (showing their age) from 2 front cement stoops with new veranda plastic white railings.

Owners Joe and Jim are very responsive to customers needs and questions. All workers are very conscientious and thorough in everything they do, they pay attention to detail which is somewhat unusual these days. I have another project in mind for a couple years from now and will not hesitate to go straight to these guys for it
Response from Redman Construction Inc.
"HI (Member name removed) glad to hear you are pleased with the work done at your home. I will be sure to pass on your comments about the crew as they like to know their hard work is appreciated. Good luck Jim"
