"D & R Construction was one of 3 contractors that we contacted for quotes for remodeling work. We were looking for someone to help with knocking down walls, gut renovating a kitchen and two bathrooms, as well as doing flooring and some work in bedrooms. This review pertains to the quote process. Eric Dutra was very responsive and professional throughout the process, offering insight and past experience as part of the quote. Furthermore, he gave a very detailed and transparent breakdown of the pricing on a line item basis. The pricing seemed very fair and jived with other quotes. we received. We ended up selecting another contractor due to time constraints, but would certainly look at D & R Construction for any future work."

Additionally, the budgeting process he uses is wholly transparent relative to other contractors we have worked with and we loved this approach of his. We didn't have the largest job in the world to take care of, but it was a significant one in terms of the integrity of our house and a bit of an unusual one as far as finding contractors who had experience in dealing with issues of rafter spread. Due to the age of our home (pretty common in the Boston area), it was an improperly framed stick-and-beam frame from the get-go insufficient to support the heavy snow loads we get in the area and needed structural reinforcement in the attic to prevent the rafter spread from compromising the exterior walls of our home. Not only did Scott fully appreciate the scope of the problem quickly, he reassured us he had extensive experience correcting a number of these issues, and together with his structural engineer devised a creative fix relative to proposals from other contractors that preserved a significant amount of headroom in our attic should we ever want to finish it."

"Jason and his team did an excellent job on all counts. I had a shower that was leaking down through the ceiling of the room below. Jason and team coordinated with my plumber to help open up the ceiling and identify the source of the leak. He and his crew determined that the issue was due to cracked grout in the shower pan. He regrouted the shower, making sure to grind out and fill in all the previous cracks and replaced the damaged ceiling. When working with Jason, I never felt rushed. He was always willing to take the time to talk through my concerns and provide his recommendations. I felt like I was talking with a friend that was an expert at home repair and renovation. Thanks to Jason's attention to detail and desire to get things right for the customer, all the detail work was done very well. Now the shower and the room below it look as if nothing ever happened.
