All in all we found working with Scott to be an absolutely amazing experience that you won't find much of in the Boston area--he is truly a real hidden gem of a contractor. The cherry on top for us was that he managed to get us in two months ahead of schedule!! We didn't have the largest job in the world to take care of, but it was a significant one in terms of the integrity of our house and a bit of an unusual one as far as finding contractors who had experience in dealing with issues of rafter spread. Due to the age of our home (pretty common in the Boston area), it was an improperly framed stick-and-beam frame from the get-go insufficient to support the heavy snow loads we get in the area and needed structural reinforcement in the attic to prevent the rafter spread from compromising the exterior walls of our home. Not only did Scott fully appreciate the scope of the problem quickly, he reassured us he had extensive experience correcting a number of these issues, and together with his structural engineer devised a creative fix relative to proposals from other contractors that preserved a significant amount of headroom in our attic should we ever want to finish it."
