"Jon was very quick to respond to my messages and was able to fit me in to his busy schedule to come take a peek and evaluate the issues. Turns out there is no immediate problem and that no remediation was necessary. He recommended some good solutions for humidity for me to research further. Jon was very friendly and you could tell that he's a straight shooter. I would definitely look to hire him should I need his services in the future."

"Radon Systems LLC did a great job. I had a radon level of around 6.5 in my basement for years, and finally decided I needed to address it. After receiving 3 quotes, I had Dave from Radon Systems come over to do the job. I initially was resigned to having the PVC pipe go up the side of my house, but Dave found a way to run the piping inside the basement and go thru the garage, with only 18" of PVC sticking up past the garage roof. Excellent! And now my radon level is around 1.0 to 1.5 all the time. The entire job took half a day, and Dave was clean, respectful and easy to work with. I absolutely recommend them."

"I have worked with many contractors, plumbers, electricians, etc. in my time owning two homes. On here in New England and the other in Pembroke Pines,FL. These gentlemen from rhino radon services were deffinelty personable and proffesional I felt like my home was in good hands with this company. After calling around and having a job scheduled with another mitigation company I was blown off and left with a short deadline. Luckily after speaking with Henri from rhino radon they were able to squeeze me right in your schedule the very next day even though they had two other jobs scheduled they showed up at 5pm and still completed the job to ensure I met my closing date, if your looking for a standout and accommodating radon company I would say look no farther then rhino radon. I was very pleased with the service I recieved. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

"John was very helpful in educating us throughout the inspection process on all areas of the home. He walked us through some of the minor repairs we might need to keep on eye on in the future, and which repairs needed more immediate attention. This was super helpful in figuring out which repairs to negotiate with the sellers. I would highly recommend his services, especially for first-time homeowners!"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The average radon mitigation system uses about 876 kWh of electricity per year, although the exact amount of electricity used will vary depending on the size of the radon fan. Once the system is installed, the annual increase to your energy bill could range from $30 to $300 per year, again depending on the size of the fan.

Your radon mitigation system may be loud because it’s time to replace it. Any sounds are usually from the inline fan that helps create the vacuum and resulting airflow. If you hear a new, loud mechanical or humming noise from your radon fan, it might be time to replace it. Most fans used in radon mitigation systems last up to 10 years, but may need to be replaced sooner.

Radon is present almost everywhere but, like sunlight, the concentration levels and how often you are exposed to it have a large part to play in just how dangerous it is. There are levels of radon that are acceptable inside a house, but above a certain limit, radon becomes a serious radioactive hazard that is a known cause of lung cancer. In fact, radon exposure is the number two leading cause of lung cancer (after smoking).

Long-term exposure increases lung cancer risks. Prolonged homestay individuals and smokers encounter heightened vulnerability and exposure concerns.

Ideally, no one will live in a house with elevated radon levels, as prolonged exposure increases the risk of serious health issues like lung cancer. However, homes with radon can be made safe through mitigation systems, such as active soil depressurization. Testing for radon regularly and addressing high levels helps ensure a safe living environment.
