"We wanted to turn two small rooms into two bigger rooms for our growing family. Antonio and his crew moved some walls, raised the ceilings and did a lot of great finished carpentry with pocket closet doors and customized closets. A lot of old insulation had to be removed and they were very focused on keeping everything clean and disturbing the rest of the house as little as possible. I felt like they really cared about protecting my home and family from the mess. We also had them build a home office space and several sets of book shelves - all of which look great. Pricing was very reasonable and there were no surprises. My calls and e-mails were returned quickly and I felt like I had a true partner in the process. I will be sure to use Antonio and his team again when I have the need."

Once Pedro’s team got started they worked really quickly on the project, and were even able to accommodate additional work that we added on as we went (once the popcorn ceilings were removed we decided to have the ceilings and walls painted, and a new light fixture added to the dining room). Even with the challenges of both obtaining materials and workman these days they did as promised. LUX finished exactly in two weeks! We are talking metal framing, walls, flooring , ceilings, heating, venting, and tearing down "construction stairs" and building beautiful custom oak stairs and railing! The project manager (David, 20 yrs. with LUX) was exemplary in communicating and answering all of our questions as well as being there either in person or by telephone at our beckoned call, even after hours. The electrical team was in and out in one day (with a few hour follow up later). The remainder of ALL of the work, framing, flooring, ceilings wall to wall including the stairs was all done by ONE worker, Luis (19 yrs. with LUX). He worked 10 hour days and took the time to do the work as if it was his own basement telling me "you paid good money, you deserve good workmanship"! I cannot recommend LUX more! Don't let the price of the product scare you away, yes the product is pricy but the quality of the workmanship, the efficiency of the workers and the warranty of the product is well worth the cost. "I hired Bob Phalan for repairs and renovation of a rental unit in Dorchester that had wear and tear from multiple tenants. Bob worked on replacing exterior clapboards, renovating the bathroom with new tiles, replacing bathroom rotten wood frame window with a vinyl frame, installing new light fixtures and repairing bathroom plumbing, repairing torn screens, as well as repainting all walls and trim throughout the unit. He also plastered damaged ceilings and cleaned and organized the basement storage area. Bob arrived early each day and worked diligently. Bob is a good problem solver and can suggest ways to do repairs for the best outcome while keeping costs down. I would definitely hire him again."

Given we had rental tenants moving out and new tenants moving in, he responded quickly to the project. Only after a couple of days, the work was completed! "It was so easy to work with John and Kim, and the basement came out great. John was patient in answering our questions and setting realistic expectations about timing and cost. John's craftsmanship and work ethic particularly came through from how much ceiling space John saved for us in the basement through elaborate channels John created for the pipes and the ducts. Both John and Kim were super responsive to our emails, even in the evening and weekends. John also made sure that we were able to use our washer and dryer through the entire process, even when it meant having to come over on Saturday morning to make sure the machines were properly connected after his subcontractors finished their part of the job from the day before. We love our basement, and look forward to having an opportunity to work again with John and Kim."

"After 100+ inches of snow in one month (Feb 2015), these guys did a great job keeping the sidewalks and steps clear.   Snowbanks were 10' high but the sidewalks, decks and stairs were still safe for our tenants and pedestrians at the 3 properties in South Boston where they cleared snow.  That was not an easy task and they did a great job.
